I'm hoping another important (and fun) part this group can play will
be to track records (or possible records) as the MLB season takes
place.

One possible record that could be broken in 2006 that I noticed the
other day is that Luis A. Gonzalez currently has 99 consecutive
errorless games at second base. The NL record is 123 by Ryne
Sandberg.

Gonzalez had 83 games at 2B last season--all errorless. I believe
that is a record for most games in a season at 2B in which they were
all errorless (passing the 72 games by Tom Herr in 1991), and was only
7 games short of the longest in-season errorless stretch at 2B in ML
history (90 also by Sandberg).
