Description

"Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long, in the end, it's only with yourself"
-Baz Lurhman,to the graduating class of '97

"If there isn't a prize for being first, there's no shame in being last!"
-Rusty

We are Bay area mountain bikers who enjoy the challenge & exercise of cross country mountain biking. Riding should be fun, an escape from everyday life. Challenging without always being competitive. We want to create a supportive atmosphere where riders can find good, like-minded people to ride with without feeling pressure to ride hard all the time.

We ride East Bay & Marin spots such as Joaquin Miller, China Camp & Mt. Tam. Trips to Santa Cruz, Lake Tahoe or elsewhere aren't unheard of. Most rides range around 12+ miles. Long & grueling epic rides into the back-country occasionally happen too.

If you've gone out with others but didn't like the vibe, maybe we will be more to your liking. We stop to enjoy the view occasionally & do rolling regroups at peaks & trail forks or at predetermined checkpoints on familiar trails. You can take comfort in knowing that we've got your back if you crash. We never drop anyone off the back of the pack.

Riding with a group can drive a steady pace, your strength will improve over time. We also invite more experienced riders to come out and challenge the pace, just be sure to check back every so often for the laggers.

We invite anyone with a functional, quality mountain bike ("Motiv" & "Huffy" do not qualify for safety reasons) a healthy sense of adventure & the ability to ride 12+ dirt miles without cardiac arrest to put down the computer, grab a helmet & come out for a ride. You won't be sorry.
Members are here mainly to make plans for group rides & to find riding partners. Watch our calendar. Feel free talk about anything but make no mistake, we are not all talk. This is a mountain biking group not a chat room.

If you're interested, drop us a line. Maybe we can meet up for a ride.

Happy Trails!
