Hi all,
I feel like this year, I am truely no longer alone. Used to be rare
when I would meet or see another barefoot runner at a road race, or
even a trail race. I saw one barefoot runner at the Huntington Beach
4th of July 5K, in 1998. In 2001, Larry M. was one of the first other
barefoot marathoners I saw, at Palos Verde Marathon. In 2002 I met
and ran with Jon in the San Diego Marathon. Well that gives you an
idea of how often I would see another barefoot runner a few years ago.
Now it's rare, that I don't see any otehr barefoot runners at a race.
This is great!
At the Canning Hunger Run in Yorba Linda, I met Arlynn for the first
time. This would be her first barefoot race. She had run Rock 'N'
Roll marathon with shoes. Which resulted in knee pains and missing
toenails. A web search, for solutions, led her to Running Barefoot.
I got some pictures of Arlynn running barefoot, as well as Roger
running barefoot, whose dad is a manager of one of the local running
stores. Though Roger did not run Canning Hunger barefoot, he did run
barefoot in the Orange County Race for the Cure, last Sunday.
Also handed out some of the new Running Barefoot Brochures;

Feel free to print these out, and distribute them to your friends or
at the next event you attend or participate in.
