Thanks Wendy. Last year my feet were hurting big time at the end of this event. This year there was only some very mild pain as I stepped on small pebbles toward the end of the race. So yes, you can learn to run on rough surfaces. Your progress toward bf running appears to be much faster than mine. Maybe you just stepped into that particular race course a bit before you were ready? I bet that if you keep training bf and following BF Ken Bob's and others advice, you will be able to run the same race next year with hardly any pain.
