Re: [RunningBarefoot] Re: Happy Birthday, Barefoot Ted!

They were trying to make the conversion (to metric) process much too complicated. IMO, all that they needed to do was: pick a date and switch.

We would not have had to worry about "how many ounces are in a liter." We would just compare how much one store was selling a liter of soda and compare that to how much another store was selling the same liter of soda!

If we bought a KG of sugar, we could just look at what we had bought and would automatically have known how much sugar is in a KG. That is exactly how we learned how much sugar was in a 5 pound bag of sugar!

Speed limit signs: they could have posted new KM/hour signs next to existing miles/hour signs and eventually removed the miles/hour signs.

BTW: Happy birthday BF Ted!!!!

Over 550 barefoot running miles since January 1, 2009.
Over 1440 barefoot running miles since June 5, 2007.

2009 goals:
1. Give more praise and glory to YHVH.
2. Run at least 800 barefoot miles during 2009.
3. Run at least 1 Half-Marathon race barefooted.

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. - Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

1Peter 4:8  More than anything, keep loving each other actively; because love covers many sins. (CJB)

James 5:20  you should know that whoever turns a sinner from his wandering path will save him from death and cover many sins. (CJB)

Isa 44:5 One will say, 'I belong to Adonai.' Another will be called by the name of Ya`akov. Yet another will write that he belongs to Adonai. and adopt the surname Isra'el." (CJB)

I belong to YHVH and I am now an adopted (grafted) family member of Isra'el!

I remember being told in Elementary school that the USA would become a
metric country starting in 1976.  They taught us the metric system and
told us how lame the old system was.  Made sense to me at 6 years old.
