Newbie - sore ankles ??   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #24518 of 30211 |
New to the group and barefoot running. Right now I run in VFF and
barefoot on the treadmill. I've been running about once/twice per week
BF and am taking it slowly (max of 1.5 miles so far) but have run up to
8 in my VFFs. I am a 40+ mpw runner and only use flats.

Here is the question - I ran on an indoor track for the first time with
my VFFs instead of a treadmill. This was a 6 miler at an easy pace.
Very different feel than on the treadmill to say the least. I now have
ankle soreness on the exterior portion aound the ball joint? Nothing to
stop me running but it stiffened a little this morning. Normal
progression for transition? Too far on the run?

I am enjoying the freedom of minimalism but as with any newbie am a bit
cautious and perhaps even neurotic about new pains/soreness. Just
looking for some thoughts from the experienced runners albeit based on
some very slight information about my running.

Thanks.
