loose foot skin   Message List

I know it sounds kind of odd, but since I have been barefoot running,
I have a couple of large-ish loose skin patches on my heels. They
kind of look like blisters, but have no fluid and don't hurt. I don't
think it is a problem exactly, but has this happened to anybody else?
They have started to peel off a bit today. Is it likely that I am
just abrading my feet on the pavement?

... I've noticed a bit of this too. Just on the big toes on occasion. Happened when I first started running barefoot. Happens less frequently if I moisturize...

After running San Diego Marathon (now Carlsbad Marathon) with Barefoot Jon one year, he had experienced a similar problem. I suggested it might be his foot...

I get these, looks like natural sloughing of the skin, I used to have them when running around barefoot as a kid, too. Twice a week I do a sea salt scrub on my...

Another possibility is that you may NOT be abrading (exfoliating) the skin enough. I've noticed, after short periods (one or two weeks) of reduced running,...

Thanks for all your thoughts, it sounds about right to me. It even answered the question I didn't ask about it being OK to moisturize. I have pretty low...
