Congratulations to all of yesterday's finishers! What a great day for a run.

A few of my friends have had some questions about the race -- am wondering if anyone has heard anything about or has answers about:

1) chip times/clock times being wrong on the race results page. Some people have clock/chip times that are identical on the race results -- sometimes the chip time is actually their correct time, other times it is several minutes faster. Others have clock/chip times that suggest they started just a few seconds after the start, rather than 10-15 minutes after the start - eg the later corrals.

2) course seeming longer than 26.2 (e.g. how long was that out/back on West River Drive?)

Just wanted to say thank you to all of the FRC peeps who volunteered at the
marathon. This was my first marathon and it was an amazing experience thanks to
you guys!

I will probably be resting for a bit but I will definitely be back for that
pretzel/cannoli run!

Thanks to all the FRC volunteers who covered water stops, gel stations, and impromptu stick-massage stations.

Some Reminders:

MONDAY NIGHT 6:15pm - last I heard, this will go on as scheduled. Meet at Lloyd Hall. Easy pace.

TUESDAY NIGHT 6:45pm - this week we will meet at LLOYD HALL, instead of the steps. They always have parade practice in the steps area, so we have to move that run just for this week. They also close the Art Museum circle, so traffic is bad that night. Allow extra time to get to Lloyd Hall!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT 6:45pm - I plan to go for a run as per usual. Join me if you want! Meet at Lloyd Hall. Turtles (slow pace) welcome! If you are taking that night off for the holiday - travel safely!

THURSDAY there is a "Turkey Trot" 5-mile race. Here's a link:
http://www.phly.com/aboutphly/Community/StVincents.aspx
Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm not sure what the call is for a SATURDAY Trail Run... stay tuned.

Looking ahead to the FOLLOWING Saturday DECEMBER 5th,
Would you like to do a "pretzel run"? We did this back in February. We met at the Eastern State Penitentiarry Saturday 9AM like normal, but instead of driving to the trails, we ran to south Philly and got some soft pretzels hot out of the oven. We also stopped for cannolis, so this was an easy and delicious run. Total distance is about 5-6 miles. Calories consumed vs. burned off are about equal. :)

I'll post this idea again on November 30.

hi,

this saturday morning there will be a trail run.

here are the details...

we meet at the entrance of the Eastern State Penitentiary @ 9am. from there we drive out to the wysamackallit. about a 10 minute drive.
we usually run 5-6 miles @ 10-11 minute per mile pace. seems slow, but not when you are running on trails... if math is not your strength, that works out to be 50-66 minutes running.

afterward, those who survive, get their mugshots taken at coffee... i mean, take their coffee at mugshots... some people even ask for bagels with egg, cheese and bacon... but you gotta be patient if you want one of those.

let me know if you have questions.

If you crash and bust up both knees, Bennett and Eugene will assess their ability to carry you out and if that doesn't scare you enough to get up and finish the run, you'll miss the fun at Mugshots.

Ah, I miss the trail runs... someday I'll be back...

Bring some $$  bucks. Bennett will be bringing FRC shirts and FRC Bondi Bands.
So if you want a shirt for the marathon/gift or just to look Awesome!
$15 -shirts
$5 head bands.

John wants to go for drinks at a local establishment, so bring some money b/c Bennett isn't buying tonight.

could i suggest the post-steps drink occur near the steps, at either:  London Grill, or Rembrandts?  (the Philly Runners group goes to Bishops Collar, so that could get crowded)

the "Slainte" Quizzo game is tons of fun, beginning at 10pm.  that could be the after-prom party for the late-night carousers.  Yes, the host is our very own Ronan, and the questions are impossible.

Teams, Store Owners, and Friends,

At 6:09 PM (as I was walking to the T3 happy hour), someone kicked in my back door and stole one thing from my house - my triathlon bike.  It was a black and gold 2008 Felt DA frame, with custom gold handlebar tape and gold cables, American Classic 420 wheels, an Adamo ISM racing saddle, Zipp Vuka headset and chicane style aerobars, with integrated bar end shifters, Shimano DuraAce 7900 groupset, and custom ceramic-bearing bottom bracket.  It was very special to me.  I spent a significant amount of time building it out, getting fit on it, and generally making it just right.
Could you please keep an eye out for it?  Also, if you could forward this around to any other listserves (I'm sending it to T3, Run Fairmount, and West River Time Trials), and any other connections you might have in the area bicycle community, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

John -

I've dabbled in web-design in the past. I might be able to help out, but it depends on how the site is set up.

Can you send me some info on how the site was built, software used, etc.

This is the last site I built: http://sauljdesigns.com/. I haven't done anything with it in a while.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good Afternoon. Lebus Restraunt will be volunteer check in headquaters again this year. They will have food for ya'll. Turn around ahs been moved back towards Philly about 200FT. The new turn around is locateed Just after Gay St and before Carson St. There are green arrows in the middle of the st. It is in front of 4425 Main St.

I was also told that there will be an anouncer out there announcing names as they hit the turn around to head home. Vehicle passes "should" be available to me by Friday of this week. Hoodies order is in. Any additional oders, I need by Friday the latest so the volunteer coordinator can get them packed for me. I am also getting radios for the turn around people and for Tommy and Obie. We will use these instead of killing my cell phone.. Also, there will be roving marshalls on bikes Cheer everybody on...

Any questions or specila needs for Manayunk, let me know so I can get them....

Again, Thank-you all for volunteering. Ya'll are awesome..
Will be intouch later.
