All:
After the record 2008 Spring Century turnout, and particularly the record number
of people completing the century course, we have modified our plans to have
enough water, and other support.
The biking community has grown, and having enough water, gatorade, sag food for
175 (previous water jug capacity) is not enough for 125 preregistered when 230
show up.
The club now has a large trailer and more water jugs, and larger boxes to
accomodate the ever growing cycling community. This was a good problem to have,
and hopefully we will not miss the mark for the Fall 2008 Century and onward.
Whether it is hot or cool, or 300 people show up, with a preregistered number of
75.
We try harder, and hope to put on ever improving events for our community. But
please remember we are still volunteer group, and our community service
activities are funded by proceeds from our Spring and Fall events.
Thanks for your support and suggestions, and I look forward to seeing everyone
on Sunday October 12th at the West Feliciana Sports Park for the BRBC Fall
Century.
PS: Preregistration is $30 on Active.com with no fees and open till Friday 10
Oct at midnight. Save $5 on Sunday morning registration!

Chip,
You're kind of throwing this way out of the reason of my suggestion. SAG's
should always have plenty of water. No brainer there. What my suggestion was, is
to REMEMBER that the places I spoke of usually have water available if needed
between sags. Sometimes riders run short for whatever reason. Dropped bottle,
loan out, etc. This suggestion is also great for non- supported rides.
Best answer would have been: "Thanks! That's great information for riders to
know if they need extra water between SAGs."
End of story.

On a large, organized club ride, riders expect there to be at least water at
all sags. (remainder deleted by bruce)
