I’m not sure how many of you are aware, but ex-Reds pitcher Cory Lidle was killed in a plane crash in
this morning. He was flying his private plane touring sites in Manhattan when he flew into a condominium building. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that it won’t take long for the media to say he intentionally crashed the plane as a result of being depressed from the Yankees losing to New York . I’m sure we’ll find out that it was some type of mechanical problem. Detroit I was one who liked Lidle as a Reds pitcher and was sorry to see them trade him. I think Lidle was out of place in the Yankees organization and should’ve been on a smaller market team. I hate to see another baseball player’s life ended in the early part of a promising career. I know it’ll never be seen by his family, but my thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, 6 y/o son, brother, and parents.
All of us should have a moment of silence or say a prayer for his family at this time and as more information comes in.
