Subject: [ROChiNa] Nov 11th Flying Fox Ride & CUE SHEETS
Join me and a few others this Sunday. Nov 11th. Finish up at the
Flying Fox Pub. Sure, you can try my recumbent.
The Slo Joe Flying Fox ride cue sheet has been posted to the files
link.
As the instigator..
membrer, I'm creating these rides and cue sheets for a couple of, I
hope, helpful reasons:
Document a route so that anyone, new member or old or visitor, can
use the cue sheet to explore parts of Shanghai and the surrounding
areas.
Offer a ride for those of us who can't always make the Sat. or Sun
FHL group rides.
Offer a ride that anyone can say: "Hey I'm doing the "X" ride on such
and such day starting ..yadda yadda".
Continue to offer "long distance" rides for those who, well just
enjoy long distance rides.
There are two cue sheet files as of today:
Flying Fox: Nov 11th ride is on for anyone who wants to ride and
grab a brew and bike chat around 1 p.m. The cue sheet can be
started anywhere along the route.
Dongchang Ferry Cue Sheet: This ride starts at the Dongchang Ferry
port on the Pudong side of the river.
There are a couple of other rides I do and will build cue sheets for
these:
Nanxiang: Out to Nanxiang where there's a great bar and dumpling
place. (Need a mtn bike as it's back roads)
Zhudi Town: Ride out to Zhudi Town, some back roads, an old cemetary,
a temple and some quiet back roads.
And a few others.
And if anyone has documented a ride....pass it along.
ABOUT CUE SHEETS.
WARNING: Due to weather and working I only had one time to do the
mileage and used a really cheap GPS. So don't take the mileage
distances as exact until I can do the ride again this Sunday.
HOW TO READ: This is a GO and THEN format.
For Example.
Cue sheet headings:
GO TOT THEN DIRECTIONS
0.8 0.8 R Onto X Street
4.7 5.5 L Onto Y Street
1.5 7.0 X Main Street
2.0 9.0 L Onto Z Street
It's designed so you don't have to worry about total mileage. Just
go the distance between points.
So after turning on X Street.
GO 4.7 kms THEN L(eft) Onto Y Street
GO 1.5 kms THEN X (cross) Main Street (reset)
GO 2.0 kms THEN L(eft) Onto Z Street
