Hey Everyone,
Save the date, Western State College will host Conference Cyclocross
Championships on Saturday, Nov. 7!
Here's why you should come out:
1. 'Cross is awesomely fun, and these courses are going to be sweet!
2. There are no major date conflicts — no conflict with the ACA Best Cross Rider
series, no major National-level events.
3. This race will determine call-ups at Collegiate Cyclocross National
Championships. If you're wondering whether that's important in 'cross, please
consult exhibit A:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQi8ZGARhB0
4. Bragging rights. We'll be crowning our first-ever conference champions in the
cyclocross discipline.
For more information, please consult the following press release. The final
flyer will be published shortly, but expect a full slate of events on Saturday
and non-collegiate races on Sunday as well.

The Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference (RMCCC) is proud to announce
the first ever Cyclocross Conference Championships to be held at Western State
College in Gunnison, Colorado, Nov. 7, 2009. The event will give some of the
best collegiate cyclocross racers in America an opportunity to showcase their
talents on a conference level.
At last year's Collegiate National Championships, in Kansas City, MO, eight
riders from the RMCCC finished on the podium in four different races. RMCCC
`Cross Championships will give athletes and teams the opportunity to compete for
the title of "Conference Champion" – an important distinction that will earn
them valuable front-row start positions at this year's National Championships in
Bend, OR.
In addition to Saturday's Conference Championship, races will be held for
non-collegiate riders of all ability levels on both Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday,
Nov 8. Racers will be treated to the beautiful autumn scenery of Central
Colorado as well as a grassy, goat-head thorn-free course. The event will draw
racers from across the Rocky Mountain region.
Furthermore, RMCCC is proud to be partnering with The Water Wheel Inn who will
have discounted rates for competitors. Other sponsors of the event include
World's Best Bike Stickers, Squirt Chain Lubricant, CyclocrossWorld.com, and
Twin Six.
The RMCCC is USA Cycling's official collegiate conference for Colorado and
Wyoming. RMCCC athletes have won countless collegiate national titles in all
disciplines of the sport, with many of them going on to successful professional
careers. USA Cycling is a 501.c.3 non-profit based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

P.S. You do not have to compete in Conference Championships to qualify for
Nationals, but don't be lame. Come out and have fun.
