Hello RMCCC,
Sorry for some repeated emails, I just want to make sure everyone is up to date and ready for a fun filled fall festival.. for sure.
FALL SEASON:
1. Make sure to have a current, upgraded collegiate license (or print your authorization to ride) for whichever discipline (XC, DH, MX) you plan to race in. Please purchase / upgrade online BEFORE the races at www.usacycling.org
2. The conference is charging for bib numbers this year $5 for the season.
ENDURANCE: Endurance finals are October 3,4 at Mesa.
GRAVITY:
1.The schedule for Sol Vista - September 4, 5 has been updated so the MX is on Sat and the DH is on Sunday. If you are racing under your trade team, you must give your collegiate team as well, and you must have a collegiate license to have your points count. Also, please thank Keith (the promoter) as he scrambled to make the schedule work for us.
2. Gravity finals is September 26th at Winter Park - CU Hosting (DH only).
3. The DS at Mesa can be used as 1 of your gravity races (but not as the Conference Finals race) for nationals and will be included in points for Gravity champion for the season even though it is after WP.
UPGRADING: You may self place up to Category B. To upgrade to Category A you must have two top 5 finishes in a Cat B / 2 race. If you are trying to upgrade for nationals, you might consider racing some USAC races in addition to the collegiate races as both count for upgrades.
NATIONALS: To race at nationals you must have raced EITHER (3 races ) OR (1 race and Conference FInals) in your discipline (Gravity or Endurance). It is always possible for races to get canceled for weather, so race early to get your starts in.
TRACK: Track Nats is September 24-27 in Trexlertown. To race you must have a track license and to race in the points race you must be a cat 3. If you need to upgrade, send an email to jhansen@... with all of your upgrade information as there is no way to do this online at the moment. If teams are driving, or driving bikes to Track Nats, we should consider pooling together as a conference to save $$. I need a list of all athletes going to Track Nats in the next week or so.
CONFERENCE VOLUNTEERS: There are still openings for two conference volunteers - Registration and Results. Each requires attendance at all the races and about 4 hours of work per week (during the race weekend). In return the volunteers get to race for free. Let me know if you are interested.
OFFICIALS TRAINING: There will be an officials training on Saturday, Sept. 5th 6-9pm in WYO - location to be announced. If you are interested in becoming a level C official, send me an email or talk to me at the race on Saturday to sign up for the training.
Whew.
See you soon.
Anne Spalding
