Hello Collegiate Cycling Conference Directors, Coaches and Riders. The
Collegiate Board of Trustees is soliciting suggestions for rule changes.
This year, we are moving to a bi-annual format where we will vote on
rule changes twice per year and publish the result of these votes so you
can prepare for upcoming rule changes. All changes will still go in
effect January 1st when the new rule books are published.=20=20
The next rule change suggestion deadline is June 15th. If you have any
rule suggestion changes please send them to collegiaterules@...=20
using the proper format which can be found in the current rulebook (Rule
7B3).
For example here is one rule change suggestion we are considering:
Rule Change Suggestion Submitted by Anne Spalding 0n May 30th

be updated to include the new bi-annual rule change process. The
purposed new rule is:

Changes to the Rules. The Board of Trustees considers changes to the
Rules once twice per year; at road and mountain bike nationals. (i) To
be considered, a proposed rule change must be submitted prior to April
15th / September 15th to the Chairperson by a Conference Director,
acting on his or her own behalf or on behalf of one or more Riders or
other individuals. To be considered, each proposed rule change must
include (A) the affected section of the Rules; (B) the language of the
rule as then in effect; (C) the proposed revision to the rule; and (D)
an explanation of and justification for the proposed rule change. (ii)
The Board of Trustees will endeavor to publish to each Conference
between September 1 and September 15 twice per year; however rules will
not go into effect until January 1st all proposals submitted prior to
July 1. (iii) The Chairperson will accept feedback from Riders and other
individuals up to and including the earlier of October 31 and the
Collegiate Cycling Mountain Bike National Championship, and the Board of
Trustees will debate and vote on all proposed rule changes thereafter.=20
D)Justification: This rule change is being suggested to allow more time
for riders to be informed of upcoming rule changes. If road rules are
submitted and voted on in the spring then riders will have an entire
season to act on them before they are put into effect on January 1.=20
