Collegiate Racers.
I know this is early in the season but moving at the pace of government
sometimes requires us to think very early about stuff. We know lodging is
always a concern and last year we weren't able to do much. This year is
different and we have a very exciting opportunity to offer the RMCCC community.
For the first time EVER, the Air Force Academy will open its "on-base" hotel and
temporary apartments to the incoming collegiate racers/teams. Repeat,
collegiate only. There is limited availability so we are asking that you either
act soon on this, or plan on staying in the local community at a much higher
cost. Unfortunately we are not allowed to house people in the cadet dorms, nor
would I think you would want to …. Unless of course you enjoy reveille.
Here are the details. All rooms are on base are within minutes of the starting
lines for all 3 events. The race is on 18-19 April 2009.
The rooms are very nice, you won't need to get through the guard gates in the
mornings and that means a little extra sleep. Housing is across the street from
where the Banquet will be.
Details:
We have set aside 26 single queen bed rooms (sleeps up to 2) ($39.00/night)
We have set aside 3 1-bedroom apartments (sleeps up to 4) ($41.50 /night)
We have set aside 2 2-bedroom apartments (sleeps up to 6) ($41.50/night)
The rooms are set aside from Friday 17 April to Sunday 19, April.
You will need to show your USAC Collegiate Racing license to check in. If you
plan to purchase a 1-day license you will need to contact Major Weinstein at
925-586-5282 prior to your checking in so he can sign you on as his guest.
To reserve a room or apartment, call 719-333-4910 dial 0 and ask to make a
reservation as part of the "FALCON CYCLE CLASSIC."
