Yep, it's almost time to pin on those lovely custom RMCCC numbers
again. The first races are this weekend. I wanted to give you an
update on race clinics for this spring.
Just to refresh your memories, we will be running intro clinics during
the road season for the women's B and men's C fields. This has been
HUGELY successful thanks to your cooperation and support. Above all,
we do these clinics to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun racing
experience. Use them as an incentive to get more people out to
participate! They don't have any excuses now. I understand that some
of the C's or B's are already experienced enough to know all of the
basics, but it's important to get everyone in the field on the same
page to ensure the ENTIRE field is safe. So, with that in mind, here
is a rough outline of the topics we plan on covering at this spring's
races:
CSU: Starting a race
CC: Riding in the pack
DU: Cornering
CU: Shifting
UNC: Braking
Mesa: Accelerations and decelerations
West: Drafting
Mines: Riding in a paceline
FLC: Attacking
AFA: Sprinting
Utah: No clinic, just race!
Special thanks to Caley Fretz of CSU for volunteering to help with
these again. You too can help the conference and earn free race
entries... ask Anne or I how you can get involved.
Two other sundry notes:
1. I still have a sh*t ton of RMCCC tee shirts, and I'll be selling
them for the low low price of $10 at the races, so bring cash or check
and support the conference.
2. RMCCC is on twitter! Follow the action at: www.twitter.com/rmccc.
See you soon!
