Just a friendly reminder that Online Registration
will end on Saturday December 6,
2008 at 12:00 am CDT for the USA Cycling Collegiate Cyclocross National
Championship.
Why race CX Natz, you ask? Do I really need to tell
you?
-Because cyclocross is awesome and KC has a great event
lined up for you!
-The D1 and D2 races are now completely separate for the
males and have start waves for the women, so you won’t be battling huge fields
like last year! Take a look at the schedule.
-There are NO conference qualifications (excluding ECCC) for
anyone to attend.
-You can hold any Collegiate CX category A-D. You are
NOT required to be licensed as an A cyclocross rider.
-For complete eligibility requirements, see the general
eligibility requirements on pages 31-33 of the Collegiate
rulebook, and the CX specifics are on page 48, and the call up procedures
on page 34 in rule 11.3.2.
-It’s a great chance to score some national team points
for your team that culminate to your overall National Rankings!
-Registering late does not matter for Call-ups! It is
based on your teams National Rankings and randomly for other non-ranked
teams. Each team is guaranteed to have a minimum of one rider in each start
grid. So if you’re a lone ranger for your team, you will be in the
1st grid called.
-It will be a chance to recruit for your team! I am
hosting a Collegiate/Jr Recruiting Fair to connect some of the best Jrs in the
nation to some of the best Collegiate Cycling programs in the nation. It
is tentatively scheduled for Saturday December 13th in the Embassy
Suites (host hotel). Keep your eyes and ears open at Packet Pick-up for
final details.
-It will be a blast to battle it out for the individual
stars and bars and the chance to get your team on the podium as well.
-We are setting up a Collegiate Conference Devo Session as
well to also be held on Saturday! If you want more CX races in your
conference, you should plan on attending. The session is tentatively scheduled
for Saturday as well, so keep an eye posted at Packet Pick-up for final details.
For full info, visit the event website.
Don’t forget to bring your Nationals
Eligibility Form with you, signed and sealed by your school registrar.
Cheers, dress warm, and hope to see you in KC!
