Hello RMCCC
Here we go again! This weekend is our first weekend of racing and it should be a lot of fun! A few things to help life run smoother.
1. Licenses. EVERYONE has to have a COLLEGIATE license. If you are racing more than one race this season, you should purchase an annual COLLEGIATE license for $30. You can do this online at
www.usacycling.org - which will be much faster than trying to do it at the race.
After purchasing your license, print your "Authorization to Ride" as this will be your license until your official one arrives in the mail.
If you are racing in the B or C category, you can also purchase a one-day license at the race for $10.
2. Categories. Your license MUST reflect your correct category. If your license says category D and you want to race in the A's, you MUST request an upgrade. You can do this online - at
www.usacycling.org . Upgrades to category B are automatic, upgrades to A require documentation of all races you have done. Please read athe rule book (online at
www.usacycling.org or online at
www.rmccc.org).
3. Registration. Registration starts at 6:30 am on Saturday. As this is the first race of the year, it may take awhile, so get there early. Be sure to have your license.
4. Uniforms. All riders must have 'idenifiably similar' uniforms to race. Your jersey must have the name or initials of your school and your shorts must either be solid black or your official team shorts - you CANNOT race in shorts or jersey with logos for anything other than your collegiate team.
Please pass this information to everyone in your club. Drive safely and I'll see all your smiling happy faces bright and early Saturday morning.
