Conference Updates

Hello RMCCC
Thank you to everyone for making our first race of the season a fun
and successful event! Here are a few updates for this weekend and the
rest of the season. Please pass this information along to your clubs.

1. Categories: The switch to USAC linked categories went remarkably
smoothly this weekend. I know this has been a lot of extra work on
the riders part and I appreciate everyone's patience as we move into
this new system. Like any transformation, it is not perfect. Please
continue to request your upgrades online. I cannot upgrade riders at
the races. If you do upgrade, you must get a new number.

2. ITT Categories: USAC rules allow for riders to race up in category
for ITT's (A B-rider may race as an A). While this will be a pain for
results calculation, this will be allowed in the RMCCC as well -
However, you cannot switch between categories if you decide to race up
in A's you must continue to do so. Note: this is ONLY for ITT. All
other races must be in the category on your license.

3. Conference Volunteers: Conor Mullervy has filled the position of
Conference Points Volunteer. In this position he will help me get
points and results posted in exchange for racing for free at all
conference races. There are 3 more conference positions available -
if you are interested see the descriptions on the RMCCC website (FAQ
page) and speak to me this weekend.

4. Officials Training: There is a free officials level C clinic being
offered this Saturday night 6-10 pm on the DU campus. So far only one
person has told me he is interested in this training. We need at
least 6 people to run the training. After completing the training you
will be a certified USAC official and you can work races (for pay) and
officiate at your home race (and save your team money). If you are
interested in the training this weekend, please send me an email ASAP.
There will be another training in two weeks at the UNC campus.

See you all out this weekend
