Fwd: Road Hazard Warning for Cyclists in Colorado   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #781 of 997 |
Please heed the warning below!  These glass beads are very hazardous!  The National Collegiate Manager Daniel Matheny took a severe fall in Colorado Springs as a direct result of these beads this summer.  His recovery included surgery with plates and screws in his ankle.  Just be aware if you are riding though any fresh paint.  See the link below for the full details.

Dear Mr. Suhr,

My name is Mike Belasco and I am on the Beth Klein, P.C. team.  The personal injury attorneys at Beth Klein P.C. have recently dealt with several cases involving bike accidents resulting from the glass beads used in road striping. We have compiled information on the road striping danger into an article on our website, which includes photos of the glass beads on the road. You can view the article here http://www.lawcolorado.net/articles/bicycle-roadstriping-accidents.html. We would appreciate you helping to spread the warning about this dangerous threat to cyclists, by placing a link to this article on the CU Cycling website and notifying your club members in any other way you see fit. If you have any questions about the road striping/glass bead problem, please let us know and we would be happy to answer your questions. In addition if you need help placing a link on your website please let me know.  We also want to mention that our firm is looking to sponsor a few bike clubs in the upcoming year.  If you are interested please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely

Mike Belasco

Marketing Manager
Beth Klein, P.C.
