The ride begins at C.B. & Potts Restaurant in Fort Collins and consists of four routes, 12, 50, 75 and 105 miles. All abilities of riders, from children to experienced cyclists, are invited to participate. The Century route will have over 7,000 feet of climbing making for a truly challenging ride. All riders will receive a commemorative t-shirt, goody bag, and aid station support. The longer routes will have mechanical support provided by Lee’s Cyclery and Fitness.
Information including routes, date, time and online registration are available online at RATRide.org. The event is promoted by Friends of Rams Cycling, connecting CSU Alumni to the Rams Cycling Team. Team Fort Collins and Lee’s Cyclery & Fitness sponsor the RAT Ride.
Team Background: Started as the Spring Creek Vélo Club in the late 1970s, the team was named Collegiate Cycling Team of the Year in 2003. The team promotes multiple events including, the CSU Oval Criterium, first held in 1986, and since 1995, the Beaver Meadows MTB Festival. Colorado State was the first university in the Rocky Mountain region to award cycling scholarships, as well as one of only a few major universities in the United States to do so. Friends of Rams Cycling (FRC), is comprised of bicycling enthusiasts and alumni who support Rams Cycling. Created in 2003 as an athletic booster club, it provides an ongoing source of support for the team through events such at the RAT Ride. Learn more at: RATRide.org.
