Hello everyone,
The running club will be having its first
meeting tonight in the SAU at 7:30. If you are running with us at 6:30, we’ll
walk over together afterwards. We will meet in the RITreat (by the student
government and OCASA offices- across the hall from the SAU café). If it is too
crowded we may move elsewhere in the SAU. The triathlon club will also be
there, as we work together on many of our events.
There will be free pizza available as we talk about local road races this
quarter (including the Brick City 5k- right here on campus). Also- both clubs
are looking for officers for next year- a great resume builder that employers
love to see. We’ll talk a little bit about what this entails tonight. Later
this week we plan on doing a vegetarian/healthy cooking night at my apartment
(yes- this is free too; we have club budgets to support these kind of things!).
We can establish a time for this at tonight’s meeting.
I apologize if you are getting this
message twice… we’d like everyone to join the Yahoo group so we can
keep you informed easily. Please visit http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/RITRunClub/
to join the group- it only takes 2 minutes. If you don’t have a Yahoo
account- get one- it is free and takes 1 extra minute. We will send all
messages after this from the Yahoo group, so please join!
Thanks to all who ran with us last week- I am really
impressed with this year’s consistent turnout. It looks like we will have
a very strong year.
See you tonight,
Ben Harris

Subject: RIT Running Club- meets
tonight!
Hello everyone,
You are receiving this email because you signed up at the
Running Club table during the freshman picnic. Thanks for your interest!
After reviewing everyone’s availability, it looks like
the running times for fall quarter will be Monday,
Tuesday, and Wednesday at 6:30pm. We will meet at the entrance to
the SLC on the quarter mile at 6:20pm, beginning tonight! We can change this as
we go through the quarter if needed. I’ve copied our club’s
co-advisors on this email, Peter Haggerty and Bill St. Jean. If anyone is
interested, Peter has a running group that meets in S-Lot (out by Crossroads)
every Wednesday morning at 7:00am.
We had 56 people sign up this year so let’s keep this
momentum going! All abilities are welcome, and the more people we get, the more
we can break down into different workouts. We plan on doing 2 races this
quarter (TBD) with free entry for our members, and we are hosting a 5k right
here on campus during Brick City Festival, the “Brick City 5k Run.”
This race will be FREE for the RIT community.
If you would like to receive further communications from the
Running Club, please join our yahoo group at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/RITRunClub/.
This process takes less than a minute and will keep you informed about all the
great things we’ve got going on this year.
Looking forward to seeing you out on the roads!
Sincerely,
Ben Harris
