I have a Winchester Low Wall chambered for 32 Long with a few barrel
pits and would like it converted to a center fire cartridge.
My interest is not in holding this gun for appreciation nor for hunting
small game but rather just plinking.
I would like to have the current barrel relined and chambered for a
currently available, [i.e., read cheaper] cartridge such as a 32 H&R
Magnum, 32-20 Winchester or similar cartridge.
Conversion of a rimfire barrel to a centerfire barrel is problematic and
may be prohibitive in cost.
It will require some degree of Hammer/Firing pin modification to insure
ignition.
I won't know until I can locate someone, with references, who can
do the job and will give me a cost estimate.
Can a member of this group suggest such a person and give that gunsmith
who would be so interested an opportunity to send me an email to discuss
the nature of this project?
