$350 and ended up with a "Universal" M-1 Carbine from a gun show, sold

interchangeable with a 'Real' M-1. Having said that, it turns out that
this particular 'Universal' is a Damn Good Shooter!! VERY good out to
100 Yrds, with a fairly cheap scope.Very reliable,
Just read this after going through some messages. I too bought a
Universal Carbine for about the same price, and It too is totally
reliable. I have read horror stories about the stamped parts etc with
this model but despite all that, mine works every time and is very
accurate, shooting a 3 inch group at 50 yards with iron sights. Until I
find that bargain MIL-spec carbine( won't happen, unless CMP gets some
more)it'll have to do. But I do not have any complaints. My Sks's,
Highpoint and AK's dont seem to mind stamped parts either...
