Why bother? The original rear sight is plenty accurate.
The M1 Carbine itself is not all that accurate, and certainly
doesn't have the range to make a scope needed.
Besides, you will greatly reduce any collector value,
if there is any.
Nice carbines in military condition are going for over
$750 these days.
