RE: [Practical_Carbine] M1 carbine rear sight removal

Basically three ways. The first is to try to find either a military, or
commercial rear sight removal/installation tool (they pop up on Ebay from
time to time), this is the safest & easiest way, but possibly the most
expensive. Second way is to drift it out with a flat faced punch (with a
face softer than steel), chances are high that you will ruin the sight in
the process of removing it. The third way is to take it to a qualified
gunsmith, problem here is in finding a "qualified" smith. For every
excellent smith, there are at least 10,000 hacks who call themselves
gunsmiths and would love to "practice" on your rifle. Good luck!
