Re: [Practical_Carbine]AK Vs SKS (was Digest Number 425)

How about another variable? I have a VEPR II in
7.62x39. It comes with a nylon stock, is accurate (at
least within the limits of my ability), and has eaten
all the cheap Russian laquered ammo I've fed it
without so much as a hicup. I ran 5 30rd mags through
it as fast as I could and it just looked at me and
yawned. Mine has a 20' barrel and the stock isn't a
shorty like on AK's. They are also available with a
16" barrel; I think this one is called a VEPR K.
They're not cheap like a surplus SKS though. Just a
thought.
