I have had several Carbines over the years and can say that the
Universal was a piece of crap, at least the one I had. If
you "really, really" want to build a piece of crap then check out the
links I will include. Seems Numrich Gun Parts has lots of Universal
Carbine parts, diagrams etc.

Honestly though, by the time you get through buying parts, paying
shipping cost and having a "QUALIFIED" gunsmith check and set
headspace on the bolt you could have bought a nice Carbine.
If you want a realy nice .30 Carbine shooter then look into the IAI
Carbines. They are awsome pieces and I havent seen much bad press on
them outside the price.
