7-UP commerical

In July, Brian (SuperDairyBoy) sent email to the list describing a
Poweriser job opportunity. 7-UP was filming a commercial that was to
(briefly) feature someone on Powerisers. They'd bought a pair, but
their stuntguy couldn't figure out how to run in them, so they needed a
"specialist". I jumped (ha ha) at the opportunity.

They flew me down to Burbank, and I spent a couple of hours chasing
after a truck with a basketball hoop on the back. I was in a crowd of
about fifty people.

I thought I'd get a tape in late September, maybe early October. I
learned that the ad was one of six that was filmed for this ad campaign,
and mine was the first; they couldn't release any footage until all were
done. I FINALLY got it yesterday.

I haven't seen the ad on TV yet (and don't know when it may air). But,
if you're interested, here's what to look for:

7-UP guy is driving a truck. You can see the side of the truck says
"Dunk and Win $1,000,000", and there's a basketball hoop on the back.
Group of guys playing pick-up spots this, and starts chasing the truck.
Truck brakes. WHAM! Guy smashes into truck. Another guy comes at it
from the side, as it pulls away from the stop sign. SMASH! He leaps
onto a little booth where kids are selling cupcakes. The last shot
shows a crowd chasing the truck down a suburban street. If you look --
very carefully -- on the left side of the frame, I'm running on my
stilts, carrying a basketball.

It was a fun experience, but the end result is a bit underwhelming.

Once I get the tape MPEGed, I'll put it on my website.

On the same tape is another 7-UP ad involving robot-ized vending
machines launching sodas at people and terrorizing a beach. It's
frickin' hilarious.
