Significant work was done on the area around Tee#14 and the area
around Basket#13, getting out stumps, clearing stones from the
pathways, and leveling the dirt into a nicer fairway. And the
Basket#13 area has been cleaned up, brushed out, and is much more
playable around the tree guarding the approach.

Much, Much, More to be done.....

Still looking for additional contributors to the work effort.
Send email or drop a message here if you need more info.

Thanks to Jason M. and John W. for the help on Sunday..
These efforts are a big help toward improving the course.

New dirt/stone was placed around Basket #9 that now makes a nice
landing zone.... but your disc will still slide off or roll off if you
get too much speed on it...... a great improvement without changing
the nature of the hole.... Thanks to Don D. and Dave (of the park) for
planning this out.

Thanks to Bob E. for the weedwacker attack on our course.... what a
nice cleanup he makes on the targetted fairways....

I was on the course Friday evening cleaning up
on #10, #6, #13, and #14.... A new bench is now
in place on #14 to relax while waiting....

*** HOWEVER ***
Due to last minute work requirements I will not
be on the course tomorrow, Sunday, June 18.
***************

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but if
you would like to help, just look for the stumps
that need to be dug up and removed or the rocks that
are jutting straight up making a trip hazard.

We have been working on Fairways #8, #9, #10, #11
and #13, #14, #15...... I'm sure the tees could also
do with another leveling up.... this seems like a
never ending task as players leave divits in the Tees.

I plan to be on the course again on Friday afternoon,
and most likely, next Sunday morning..

Thanks to those who have offered and supplied help on the Boulder
Woods Course. It has had a really good cleanup this spring and many
upgrades have been put in place through hard and diligent work.

If you would like to help with the ongoing maintenance and yet-to-be
implemented upgrades, contact us about helping out....

Barring any major weather events, I should be working on the course
again this coming Sunday, July 2.....

Considering the large amount of rain we've gotten over the past week,
the course is in remarkable shape. It is very playable...

However, because there is still mud rather than dirt in the bare
areas, it is not going to be workable..... after it dries out a bit,
we will be working on the upgrades again..

I continue to see vandalism of the course.

Most recently, I've noticed a few trees that were damaged. While
there have been storms that came through the area and broke off limbs
that caused lower damage, it appears that someone is still breaking
off smaller trees to make throwing the fairways easier. I'm pretty
sure that the bent tree on Hole#1 (now broken and soon to be removed)
was damaged by someone rather than by any storm.

THIS IS VANDALISM!! Unless the trees (or other bushes) are lower than
waist-high, it was intended to be there.

And someone keeps removing the prop I've placed under the tree on
Hole#14.... this prop is intended to help this tree survive there and
grow in a more upright direction.

If you see anyone damaging the trees (or any other part of the
course) please get their identity and bring it to my attention.

Likewise, there has been more trash on the course lately.... Please
do not throw your empty bottles on the course (and be sure they don't
fall out of your bag, accidentally). If you see other's throw trash
on the course, politely return it to them, and ask that they deposit
it in the barrel at Hole#1 or some other trash can.

Maintain pride in Boulder Woods by protecting it from vandalism and
trash.

Final Notice - Iron Man V - October 1, 2006

We're in the final stretch before the Iron Man 5th Anniversary
Competition.... October 1, 2006

I hope you have been raising money for the MS Society as we'll have an
award for the TOP Fundraiser... I hope we'll be able to pass the $1000
mark this year....

Please show up as soon after 7:30AM as possible. You need to throw 10
warm-up holes before the 8:15AM Player Meeting....

Please have your partner picks (3ppl/group) arranged before showing
up.... If you know you play slowly, please pick 1 partner to make a
twosome which should be able to keep up with the threesomes...
Hopefully with 2 non-stop rounds before Lunch and 2 non-stop rounds
after Lunch, there will be little need to Play-Thru, as everyone
should be done for Lunch and again for the Final Round.

If you Pre-Registered for a T-shirt, we'll be handing them out at the
Registration... you can wear it or put it in your car....

We talked with one of the maintenance people today, and they assured
us the bathrooms will be open all day next Sunday..... and the gates
will be open for the 7:30am registration.

If you have further questions, please ask -- Ken(at)PinchtoDiscGolf.com

Hope to see you there....

First off, I'd like to personally thank Mr. Don Dillon, local "Legend"
for all the recent exposure he has provided for our beloved sport.
Whether at Messiah, Crrekside, or the Ironman, Everyone knows thelack

Recent newpaper articles and news clips have done all of us a great
justice. If you do not know Don, meet him, you'll never regret it.
If you already know Don, make it a point to shake his hand and thank

Secondly, I'd like to inquire as to the status of the new basket tops

existing on the Boulder Woods course. Can we can an update??
Also, while I am at it... it's the right time of year to discuss the

Jason,

I agree. Don has done a great service for all of Disc Golf in the
Central PA area.... what a great representative for this sport....
THANKS DON!!

TOPS - I once again spoke with Innova this past week (about the 10th
time this summer) regarding replacing 9 of the rusty tops on the
course.... and was told they would be sent this week...... Here's
hoping....

And as to additional holes..... A few details need to be worked out,
but they are already generally pre-planned and likely to be flagged by
January so clearing can be underway for the Spring....

In the past 3 weeks, I've been told twice the basket tops were on the
way, but yet have not arrived... I will be contacting Innova again
this coming week to find out why!?!

All monies donated for the return shipping is still in hand, safely
awaiting the proper use.

The 9 baskets being replaced will have inner chains... and the money
raised/donated last year by a joint BWCC/HADGC event will be applied
to 9-additional sets of inner chains for the remaining baskets.

Once again, this money is still in hand, safely awaiting the proper
use.

Thanks to all who donated.... the implementation has been delayed due
to circumstances on Innova's part, but the goal has been steadily
pursued........

Innova came through with the New Basket Tops to replace the rusty
one's on the course.

Tomorrow, Sunday 12/17, we'll be on the course replacing tops.

You're welcome to come out and help... I should have the necessary
tools with me for this work.

Also bring along a leaf rake and/or a steel rake (stone rake) as well.
There are leaves in the water drainage ditches and on the Tees that
need some attention and there are always Tees that need the stones
re-leveled.

Your help in maintaining Boulder Woods is greatly appreciated.

We installed 9 New Basket Tops on the course today. We hope you enjoy
the better targets.

Additional Inner Chain Sets for the other baskets are to follow.....

Anytime YOU would like to help, just drop an email to us and tell us
what you would like to do.

OR, simply bring a leaf rake to rake up the leaves in the drainage
ditches or on the Tee Pads, or bring a steel rake to level up the
stones on the Tee Pads. These tasks need doing on a regular basis.
