New drainage ditches have been created between Holes #1, #2, #3 and
#18 to assist in moving water off the fairways. Also, collecting berms
have been created parallel to the fairways to prevent the water from
flowing across them.
Please do not disturb these ditches or the berms created. Over time,
additional work will be done to expand these efforts at directing the
water flow into the new ditches.
Bridges or paths to cross the ditches or areas that may continue to be
wet are also in the future.

There is a permanent notice posted at Tee#1 (unless someone took it
down in the last couple days)...
I'm hoping that many of the regular players who typically don't
participate in other organized competition at Boulder Woods will take
the opportunity to stop by and see how much fun the Ladder Competition
can be.....
I appreciate your offer of help.... I expect there to be a few Sunday
mornings when I'm not able to be there.... and I'd appreciate it if
you could handle the match-ups on those days.... I'll show you over
the first few weeks what needs to be done...
David is a good guy... he said he was just glad to get the disc back
to you... he would appreciate the same in the future if it were him
that lost one....
Thanks,
Ken
Ken,
Did you post anything at the park about the ladder? I didn't see
anything, and I think the ladder is a great weekly event that allows
players to gain confidence, learn from peers, and compete for fun.
I'd really like to see a regular turnout and plan to attend many of
these events myself. If there is anything I can do, let me know.
Also, did Dave need any plastic?
Thanks,
Jason
I don't know who did the great cleanup of the TeePads... but Thanks....
It was fantastic to play a Snow Round on Boulder Woods
with completely dry TeePads.....
Thanks to whomever it was...
Ken
There will be a Ladder Competition for 2008.
This is a FREE competition with no entry fees
and no prizes or prize money. The Scheduled
Competitions will be held _Every_Sunday_Morning_
in April through September.
1st Round at 9:00am - 2nd Round at 10:30am
Two Rounds of Head-to-Head FUN!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Concept of the Ladder Competition
is to allow players to find their ranking among
their fellow players, with the best player ranked
as #1. The initial ranking is the result of the
raw score for two games and the ongoing ranking
is based on winning a position from the current
holder. All Ladder Competition play will be on the
Boulder Woods course using the Amateur length tees.
The results will be accumulated and the rankings
will be posted on the Pinchot Disc Golf website.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you have never played in the previous Ladder Competitions
and would like a full copy of the rules for 2008, or have
other questions you would like to ask, please make a request
through my email - Ken1-at-PinchotDiscGolf.com
I will be able to email to you a WORD.DOC file of the rules.
Please allow 2 days for a response.
I would also appreciate a few volunteers who are willing to run
one of these competitions should I be absent. I will make sure
you understand the process and are comfortable following it.
This is a great opportunity to invite amateur and rec players
to a FREE Disc Golf event where they can become familiar with
new faces, new skills and new challenges.
Ken Lemkelde - Fun2Throw
Personally, i think the ladder is great. It builds the confidence of
players and they get to play with more people than "that one buddy
they always play with" which gives them the chance to learn from more
advanced players, or teach the newbies. I'd love to see a ladder in
the spring.

I was pleased to see the great support for the MS Society this year.
Raising $1475 is a great effort and we especially appreciate Tammy
Manatt doing such a great job.
As I have in the past, I'd like to invite suggestions for positive
changes for the 2008 Iron Man. You can send email to me directly at
Ken-at-PinchotDiscGolf.com. I'll consider every serious suggestion and
review the options for next year.
I've tried to vary some of the elements over the past years but if you
would like to see something different, now is the time to speak up.
Just make it positive and clearly explain what you'd like to see and
why you think it would improve the event.
In my perspective, the Iron Man has been primarily a fun way of
raising money for a good cause. But I have also tried to incorporate a
competitive element and a family picnic atmosphere. Our expenditures
usually equal or exceed what we take in on the entry fee, so it really
has not been a fundraiser for DG.
I've tried to make the Iron Man a unique event with a unique prize
system. Some have mentioned the clocks positively.... and I am willing
to continue the tradition.... or consider alternatives if some other
prize would be more valued. Comments are welcome on the current system
of cash payout for positions 1-5, plaques for 6-10, and the random
drawing so everyone takes something home.
I'm just trying to find out what is satisfying and/or what other
alternative I might be able to consider.
I'm listening.
Ken Lemkelde
First, I want to thank Don Dillon for assisting with
the various duties this year in running the IM. It would
not have been possible with his help.
Second, I want to thank every player who helped to make
this the 2nd largest contribution to The MS Society.
Third, I want to thank Innova Disc Golf for once again
supporting our Iron Man Fundraiser.

DO IT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE......
To whom it may concern:
I feel the advanced and intermediate should play two 18-hole rounds.
Either have both rounds played in one day, with an earlier start, or
one 18-hole round each day. If the late start was to accommodate
working players then they were probably local players meaning two
days of play isn't necessarily an overnight stay. If the late start
was not to accommodate workers then have two 18-hole rounds in one
day so out-of-towners only play one day.
