To everyone who has an interest in the welfare of Boulder Woods....
Don Dillon and Dave from the Park Maintenance Crew worked on uprooting
the stumps on many fairways today.... much was accomplished.....
Thanks to Don and Dave, and also to Lynn Baker, for putting muscle
into the task, and helping make the course easier to navigate.......
There are still stumps and stones that need to be moved off the
fairways... preferably about 15' off to the less used side of the
fairway (usually the inside side of the curve)......
Some stumps were not able to be popped up by the equipment on hand....
so those are going to need to be dug around and the roots cut off in
order to remove them from the center of the fairway...... (just a
quick note for the future, when cutting trees off the fairway, leave a
high stump so it can be used for leverage when it's time to remove the
stump).....
There is much clean-up yet to be done, so your help would be much
appreciated...... If you have a steel rake (stone rake) or shovel,
bring it along.... and you'll need gloves, water, insect repellant,
and maybe even sun-screen....
We will be on the course tomorrow and Sunday.....
Don will be at the course on Saturday at 10:00am and plans to bring
extra tools for those without their own..... of course, we need your
arms and legs even if you don't have a steel rake or shovel to bring
along...
On Sunday, I should be at the park near 8:00am until 12:30pm... and
I'm sure Don will be there too.... and we'll both have extra tools for
those who want to give of their time to this cause.....
Thanks, in advance, to those who help.... Please coordinate your
efforts with Don or myself so we know what's being done, and what
remains....
Ken
