Hi Arthur :-)
O&S took part in 3 GP events. I was especially happy with their result at NHK - they won with Pang/Tong there, which makes them a World top 10 pairs contender.
On Yulia's citizenship... I discounted the Russian Figure Skating Site info at the first moment too, but finally figured that different ISU Championships have different rules. For instance our national (Polish) pairs junior champions cannot participate in any international junior championships because they are too young (she is 12 and he is 15), yet they can participate in national junior championships, which I think are also ISU championships (after all they're organised by the Polish Skating Union).
Perhaps Yulia's in the middle of changing her citizenship, which makes anything to do with paperwork or leaving the country difficult. At any rate, I'm willing to believe the official version.
Nice to hear you wish Z&S well :-)
There's a couple of skaters in each discipline that I like. I'm not a fan of B&S. Not because I'm against them, but because I'm against the way they're judged. Now that they won't be in Lausanne, anything could happen there. There is absolutely no knowing who's going to be on the podium in pairs - very exiciting :-)
I hope this will be a well judged competition and that P&T skate their socks off :-)

Thanks for your input. You`ve made me feel much better by telling me that placements do count, because as you say, I agree that neither lesser pairs teams are likely to place as high as P/T at SLC.
I would never suspect the Velikov/Velikova camp of treating P/T poorly, but the Russian federation could possibly have different ideas. I sure hope not. That`s where politics enter into play There are other coaches who could be more in favor than Velikova.
Your no-corruption version makes sense to me,a lot of sense.
In regard to your succeeding post about Obertas`s citizenship; I had already read this before you called my attention to it, but discounted it because, after all, weren`t O/S at NKH? That`s an ISU event.
You don`t have to justify yourself to _me_for saying, "Goodie!") when B/S pulled out of Euros. In a larger group than this (10 or so members?) , you could become real flamebait, though. P+T are my guys and I really don`t care much about the other teams (although I wish Z/S well).
Lucky you, going to Euros. Safe trip. Again, thank you very much for your encouraging post. I`m breathing easier.
Best regards,
Arthur
