I was just reading Heather's figure skating schedule:

I noticed that Europeans is going to be telecast in the US on February 1st:
"Sat. Feb. 1 4-6 Europeans (Ladies and Mens Long)
ABC
Thurs Feb. 6 1-3 Repeat of: Europeans (Ladies and Mens Long)
ESPN"
What about the pairs and dance competitions?
None of those competitions are going to be shown?
What do you think about this?
Do you think there is anything we can do, such as e-mailing ABC? (I don't have an e-mail link.)
Well, at least the ladies and mens competitons will be exciting:
Slutskaya, Sokolova, Volchkova..........
and the men: Plushenko will square off against Abt (I think that Plushenko will prevail)--and Klimkin will be there........

I don`t ever remember getting more than 2 hrs of Euros per year, long programs only, medalists and maybe 4th place finishers only from all 4 disciplines. For some reason they`ve chosen to only show ladies and men this year, but of course you`ll see 6 or so of each. With ABC, writing is futile. You can only hope they change their mind of their own volition. Ladies` and men`s are the biggies and pairs and dance have always been and probably will always be the 2nd class citizens. One wonders too, if the fact that there was a judging scandal that overlapped both pairs and dance at the Olys had anything to do with ABC`s decision here.
AFAIK ABC owns Lifetime, ESPN, and ESPN2. So far this season I`ve been very pleased at what we`ve gotten to see.
In the not-too-distant future people will be video-streaming European events to us in the states, in fact it wouldn`t surprise me if some clever people are doing it already.
