Our Political Sovereignty As OWNERS Of Our Society!

Here’s the nub of it folks; we do not have to surrender our ELECTORAL Ownership
over our communities and our society to a Global Economy that is being PLANNED
without our interests at heart and we do not have to surrender our Electoral
Ownership to a secular humanist society that is attempting to DICTATE social
norms to our communities in the name of “individual rights” which, according to
their new definition, a definition we do not choose to associate with and that
we reject, means that the Federal Government and the lone individual are the
only two authorities for upholding and defining social norms through civil law,
criminal law, and general social policy.
(NOTE: On the California situation with Gay Marriage, I firmly beleive the BEST
way to keep the peace is to give each side the option of winning its views in a
city or a county and I also believe they MUST assert that no individual has to
recognize ANY marriage they do not want to recognize..more on that some other
time The BIG issue is NOT "Gay Marriage" or any of the hot button issues, the
issues is WHO GETS TO DECIDE this very important social norm and social policy?)

In reality this creates an intolerable situation in which the true sovereignty
of the individual cannot be truly exercised in the area of participating in
determining social norms, civil law, criminal law, and social policy DIRECTLY in
a community of one’s peers. Of course such communities of our peers may choose,
by right, to adopt any reasonable measure, reasonable in terms of protecting the
right of participation in the political decision-making process and the right of
dissent or dis-association, that is consistent with their sentiments, morals,
and beliefs as to what is RIGHT for their community.
For those who deny that we, the sovereign electors of our communities, possess
such inherent sovereignty over our locales I make no appeal and I offer no
compromise. We assert, simply, that as sovereign individual Electors we possess
an inherent and natural right to participate, as direct legislators, generally
by a super-majority of 2/3rds of more, to establish and enforce such social
norms, criminal laws, civil laws, and social policies as we deem best suited to
protect our rights, persons, and property in accordance with our shared
sentiment, morals, values, and beliefs.
It is illogical and disengenuine to claim that we have any nefarious intentions
or that we will abuse such sovereignty: the purpose of such distractions is to
avoid the fundamental question which is this, whether our sovereign communities,
which we, the sovereign individual Electors OWN by right exclusive of all
non-residents, are and of a right ought to be free and sovereign communities of
free people who are the highest SOVEREIGN, as an Electorate that directly
participates in the judicial and legislative process of the community, and who
must appeal to their conscience, to the mutual consent, and to Nature of
Nature’s God and not to those who would USE a so-called care for “individual
rights” in order to disenfranchise the People.
We do not ask for this Sovereignty or Demand it, it is ours by right of
possession as resident members of our locales and it begs no permission from any
law, official, court, constitution, policy, or government in order to be freely
exercised by the DIRECT participation of ALL Electors in a “consensual decision
making process.”
Our communities are and of a right ought to be truly INDEPENDENT in their
economic sovereignty and in their social sovereignty while remaining AUTONOMOUS
in their political sovereignty in order to protect their inherent right to adopt
their own economic rules and policies, civil and criminal code, social norms,
and social policy independently of any outside power provided that the following
is respected:
 
1. Every dissenter’s right to speak and urge for amendments, repeals, and new
laws, policies, elections, or officials must be inviolate
 
2. That the privacy of the home, of churches, and of private organizations which
are not engaged in violent sedition, treason, or the abuse of any other person’s
rights, property, or person be held inviolate
 
3. That NO religious or anti-religious test be applied for being an Elector or
for running for office
 
4. That where a contiguous dissenting minority exists, as great a degree as
possible of internal autonomy must be respected within areas under their domain
and that if necessary the right of such areas, by a 70% or greater vote within
the target area, to secede or join a neighboring community be respected
peacefully
 
5. That the right to keep and bear arms, to privacy of one’ papers, a trial by
jury, presumption of innocence, of political free speech (the community has a
right to regulate ALL public content according to its social norms provided
dissenters are not prohibited from calling for the repeal of such policies and
arguing their case), of freedom of worship within your home and house of worship
and to publicly seek to convert others, shall be respected
 
These are reasonable terms, designed to allow sovereign individuals their own
space, as ELECTORS. where they can seek to SHAPE their society in a manner that
both prevents an abrogation of the political rights of individuals while also
preventing the political authority beyond the community level from creating
“social norms” that the People in MANY, if not almost ALL, localities in this
nation find to be harmful to society, to their children, to the good of the
nation, and the to the good of their community and which they have not only NOT
been asked to consent to, based on the FALSE idea that ONLY the Federal
Government and the lone individual has ANY authority over the area of
establishing social norms.
If you beleive in TOTAL individual choice with little or NO social norms, pursue
this. Do not say, "well, you can have your specific vision if you have a private
community but you MUST have my vision of unlimited  individual choice everywhere
else" when, in fact, your views are in the minority! Assert your own minority
rights, to privacy, to opting out, to dissension and to your own space, which is
MORE than present society provides!

Our MOST BASIC right is our inherent right to ESTABLISH our social norms
primarily at the local level by means of a consensual decision making process as
we the People see fit for the overall good of every individual and for our
community, our children, our society, and our nation.


This does not mean that we are demanding any particular norms, merely that we
are asserting the RIGHTS of individuals to PARTICIPATE in a DIRECT way in
determining what those norms should be and how or IF we should utilize civil
law, criminal law, or social policy to perpetuate, protect, and maintain such
social norms as we believe, by common consent, are the most beneficial and
healthful to ourselves and our community.
I believe that we need to STOP “asking” for a recognition of this right, and
stop relying on petitions and courts to assert our political sovereignty over
our OWN society  as we see fit and to STOP pausing every few words to answer
pretended concerns and distracting allegations that we want to “cram your
religious down our throat” or whatever anyone else thinks they should say
instead of addressing our fundamental OWNERSHIP over our communities and our
society, which ownership is ours to use as we see fit regardless of their
accusations.
We need to stop trying to CONVINCE the other side; they are not going to agree
to anything we say or do, we need to start to SAY THIS TRUTH boldly and without
fear and rally around it: WE THE PEOPLE are the ONLY authority that has any
RIGHT to decide, in our communities, by our direct consent, the SOCIAL NORMS
that we deem to be most fit for a healthy, secure, and prosperous community. We
need to stop ARGUING WITH THEM or pulling back our words for FEAR that someone
will say bad things about us, and we need to just RALLY AROUND each other RIGHT
NOW!
Whatever kind of community or society you prefer, you have a RIGHT to seek to
urge others to join with you in establishing your society, but you MUST convince
them or you must find communities of like minded people that already exist. WE
ALL DESERVE OUR OWN SPACE, our own communities, where we can participate in
establishing social norms by the consent of the People.

PS if you are going to say "only individuals have rights" please define "rights"
and the a priori logic upon you might make this claim...Rights are legal or
moral entitlements or permissions.


There are numerous different theoretical distinctions in accordance with which
rights may be classified.

Natural and legal rights - Rights may be considered to be either of a purely
moral or ethical character, as in the idea of natural rights, which holds that
we obtain certain rights from nature that cannot be legitimately modified by any
legislative authority; or they may be considered to be of an artificial,
man-made character, as in the idea of legal rights, which are arbitrary human
constructs, created by legislative authority and always subject to change.

Claim rights and liberty rights - A liberty right grants permission, whereas a
claim right grants an entitlement. As entitlements, claim rights serve as rules
of interaction between people, as they entail constraints and obligations upon
the actions of other individuals or groups (e.g. if a person has a right to
life, others cannot have the liberty to kill that person). As permissions,
liberty rights are also known simply as liberties, but are still frequently
referred to as rights (e.g. "I have a right to do x" often means "I am permitted
to do x"), though some deny that such usage is proper.

Negative and positive rights - Negative rights require inaction on the part of
others (in the sense of rights as claims or entitlements) , or permit inaction
(in the sense of rights as liberties or permissions) . Conversely, positive
rights require action on the part of others (in the sense of rights as claims or
entitlements) or permit action (in the sense of rights as liberties or
permissions) .

Individual rights and group rights - Individual rights are rights pertaining to
individual people regardless of their membership within a group, while group
rights are held by an ensemble of people collectively or by the members of a
group of people who have a certain characteristic in common. In some cases there
can be tension between individual and group rights.

Although this article somewhat contradicts my preferred perspective
that there are actually two seperate holidays, the religious
celebration of the birth story of Christ, and the secular celebration
about Sat-, I mean Santa(which  at its best is about love and giving,
at its worst about raging materialism- a perspective which eliminates
the spiritual)and trying to make them one only damages the more
important one - this article  is really good. And will it ever be
possible that Peace will be a concept  we actually seek and value for
others as well as ourselves, rather than something which we casually
mention during the holidays? Nice thought, anyway, Merry Christmas.

Putting Herod back into Christmas

How people love Christmas carols! When I was a priest back in London,
carol singing around the parish really seemed to get everyone in the
mood for Christmas. We always had a real accordion and an old-
fashioned lantern on a pole; we were always wrapped up warmly, and we
would stop and sing carols under selected streetlights. It was a
scene fit for a Christmas card.... People came out in droves, mostly
non-churchgoers, to listen and put money in our collecting box for
the homeless. When we were finally all sung out, we would trudge back
to someone's house for mulled wine and minced pies...all very
English! Great memories.

But we need to beware! Our culture loves a sentimental Christmas, and
the Christmas carols that we sing are a big part of that. The words
often paint an idyllic picture of sanitary bliss that has very little
to do with the reality of what Jesus came into this world to do. This
week Jim was reading the Christmas story to our son Luke. He read of
how Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem on the donkey, that there
was no room in the inn. But there was a stable, and, as Jim
read, "the stable was warm and clean!"

But this sanitization of the Christmas story is a relatively recent
development. It's interesting that before the Victorian era,
Christmas songs were much more likely to reflect the reality of
Jesus' entry into our world. Carols would not hesitate to refer to
the blood and sacrifice of Jesus or the story about Herod
slaughtering the innocent children. As an example of the contrast,
read through the words of "Away in a Manger." Jesus is the perfect
baby, and "No crying he makes...." My guess is that Jesus cried a
lot. We know from the gospels that the more Jesus saw of the world in
which he lived, the more he mourned and wept regularly. A Jesus who
doesn't weep with those who weep, a Jesus who's just a sentimental
myth, may be the one that our culture prefers, but that Jesus can do
nothing for us.

In Britain there's a very popular musician called Cliff Richard.
About 10 years ago he released a Christmas song that reached the top
10 in the charts. The lyrics of "Saviour's Day" reflected his
Christian faith and included lines such as, "Life can be yours on
Saviour's Day, don't look back or turn away...." I picked up a
teenage pop magazine where there was an article reviewing the
season's Christmas songs. When it came to "Saviour's Day,"
the writer
said, "This song is OK, but there's no holly, no mistletoe and wine,
no presents around the tree, no snow, no Santa, in fact this song
hasn't got anything to do with Christmas at all!" A radio DJ in this
country once said, "What Christmas is all about is the celebration of
living in a great nation like this." It's not a celebration of
this "great" nation; it's about Jesus Christ. It's so easy to
let the
world reduce our spirituality to nostalgia and sentiment. As
Evangelical Covenant Reverend Dr. Michael Van Horn said, "We must be
careful not to lose the connection to the truth of the story because
it is that story that shapes our identity as the people of God."

Another danger of sentimentality is that we tend to lose interest in
the parts of the story that are not so comfortable. We smile at the
warm cozy nativity scene, but have you ever spent a night in a barn?
Or given birth in a barn? The reality is very different. Most
scholars suggest that in Luke's account it's not just that the inns
were full but that Mary and Joseph were forced to take the barn
because their family had rejected them. Joseph has relatives or
friends of relatives in Bethlehem. So rather than being received
hospitably by family or friends, Joseph and Mary have been shunned.
Family and neighbors are declaring their moral outrage at the fact
that Joseph would show up on their doorsteps with his pregnant
girlfriend.

No sooner have the wise men left the stable then King Herod plots to
kill Jesus. He is so determined that he is willing to sacrifice many
innocent lives in order to get to this one baby. Herod recognizes
something about Jesus that in our sentiment we fail to see: that the
birth of this child is a threat to his kingdom, a threat to that kind
of domination and rule. Jesus challenges the very power structures of
this evil age. Herod has all the male infants in Bethlehem murdered.
Not so cozy. This is the Jesus who entered the bloody history of
Israel, and the human race.

But we don't want to think about Herod. Van Horn calls him
the "Ebenezer Scrooge without the conversion, the Grinch without a
change of heart." We Christians like to talk about putting Christ
back into Christmas, but let's not forget to put Herod back into
Christmas.

Herod represents the dark side of the gospel. He reminds us that
Jesus didn't enter a world of sparkly Christmas cards or a world of
warm spiritual sentiment. Jesus enters a world of real pain, of
serious dysfunction, a world of brokenness and political oppression.
Jesus was born an outcast, a homeless person, a refugee, and finally
he becomes a victim to the powers that be. Jesus is the perfect
savior for outcasts, refugees, and nobodies. That's how the church is
described in scripture time and time again - not as the best and the
brightest - but those who in their weakness become a sign for the
world of the wisdom and power of God.

 "America's Email".......WE REMEMBER TONY SNOW AND OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE
WITH HIS FAMILY.....
 
TONY SNOW was a really nice guy..And my hometown  - Hampron Roads, VA is where
he started his career - 1981-82 at the Virginian - Pilot and 1982-84 as the
editorial page editor of the Daily Press....It ws really the last time either
paper had some balance in it's coverage. 
 
That coverage inclided his love of sports...Tony attended many games of the
Peninsula Pilots of the Carolina League.....We met many times but usually it was
one of my staff that noticed he was at the game...He NEVER wanted special
treatment..AND NEVER USED HIS PRESS PASS....We urged him to but he said the fact
that he was not covering the game let him be a fan - So he paid the 3
bucks.....Tony also kept the Daily Press a "Homer" sports section - By "Homer"
we mean it showed which team it supported.....We had 2 beat writers from then
same newspaper cover every game - One for the morning - one for the
afternoon.....Also as example if there were 9 bad things to say about our team
and only one good thing - They printed the good thing..Not only because they
rooted for our team - But because the 9 bad things were not scandals...just
things wrong wiith the park or scoreboard....Kinda "Acts of God"...A Friendly
local paper is essential to a minor league baseball
  team - Which Tony knew....Alas since that time both the editorial board and the
sports sections have declinded...
 
Tony went on to so many things that made him a guy conservatives could
trust..Tony was part of the FOX NEWS explosion in 1997...Hosting "FOX NEWS
SATURDAY" ....;FOX RADIO AND THE WEEKEND DESK......
 
Than his President called and he served with honor....class and
grace....Fighting cancer twice and always with smile......He always got
President Bush's views out - He kept the media alerted. President Bush 41 - who
Tony also worked - spoke of his loyality as did Barbara Bush.....The 26th
Presidential Secretary did an outstanding job... .
 
Having Tony be  part of our lives in Southeast VA - if only for 6 years - made
his mark here...And Go to such great heights!! We salute Tony.. President Reagan
was his hero....I know that he and the President are on top of the shinning city
on the hill.today!..God Bless all his family !!   - Let's Roll!!

endurance, and safety.. If it be God's will, give these men and women the
strength they need to prevail. I am sorry, but I am not breaking this one...

   ....Let us pray. Prayer chain for our Military..please don't break it.....

am qouting liberal dems words about my party,,,,,,

   HOMEPLATE...You know democrats really have thrown the Clinton's under the
bus...They were democrat royalty until 6 months ago....Now they can't say enough
bad things about them.....Can you imagine the GOP doing this to the
Reagan's???If dems have been loyal to the Clinton's..I would hate to be their
enemy.......

   Today I am running a piece that our good friend SUE OWEN sent some years
ago...It is even more revelant today.....



It is time for the majority to rule!

So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading

entire book of Acts.

They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant
safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the
game.

"But it's a Christian prayer," some will argue. Yes, and this is the
United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles
and we are
in
the Bible Belt. According to our very own phone book, Christian
churches
outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect,
somebody
chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a
Jewish
prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a
Muslim
prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear
someone
pray to Buddha. And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one
bit. When
in Rome...

"But what about the atheists?" is another argument. What about them?

Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the
collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too
much, bring
a
Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the
concession
stand.... Call your lawyer. Unfortunately, one or two will make that
call. One
or two
will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a
short prayer
at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while
our
courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents
taught us to
pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us
just to
pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are
telling us
to
cease praying. God, help us.

And if that last sentence offends you, well..........just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long.. it's time we let that
one
or two who scream loud enough to be heard, that the vast majority
don't care
what they want.. it is time the majority rules!

It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray.. you don't have to
say the
pledge of allegiance, you don't have to believe in God or attend
services
that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right. but
by golly
you are no longer going to take our rights away We are fighting
back.. and we
WILL WIN! After all, the God you have the right to denounce is on our
side!

God bless us one and all, especially those who denounce Him... God
bless
America, despite all her faults.. still the greatest nation of
all....

God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to
pray
and worship God...

May 2004 be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back
as
the foundation of our families and institutions.

America: The Good Neighbor.

Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a
remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a
Canadian
television commentator.

What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed
in the Congressional Record:

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as
the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the
earth."

Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were
lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in
billions of
dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries
is
today
paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans
who
propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on
the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that
hurries
in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by
tornadoes.

Nobody helped.

The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars
into
discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing
about
the decadent, warmongering Americans.

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the
erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any
other
country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the
Lockheed
Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them?

Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman
on
the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You
talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles.

You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon- not
once, but several times-and safely home again. You talk about
scandals,
and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody
to
look at.

Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here
on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian
laws,
are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down
through
age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania
Railroad
and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old
caboose.

Both are still broke.

I can name you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of
other
people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else
raced
to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even
during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned
tired
of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing
with
their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their
nose at
the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope
Canada is
not one of those."

This is one of the best editorials that I have ever read regarding the
United States. It is nice that one man realizeD it. I only wish that
the
rest of the world would realize it. We are seem to be blamed for
everything,
and don't get a thank you for the things we do. I would hope that
each of

~ The Way We Were...1978 Winston-Salem, North Carolina...The
Peninsula Pilots were in town playing the Winston- Salem Red
Sox.....We - The defending Carolina League Champs - were staying at a
Best Western..I was sitting at the pool with Field manager JIM SYNDER
having a nice chat...And all of a sudden a very large country cowboy type
came up to us screaming at us "Where is my daughter?".....Well she
was a "groupie" and had met one of our players.....I got the signal
from Jim to go resolve the problem while I ran from room
to room to fix the situation....Sure enough one of our players - a
future major leaguer - was "entertaining" the young lady....We
quickly got her out of the back of the hotel and was never heard from
again...Well until the next trip we made there....From "Big League
Dreams"......

   PULL THE TARPS.....People in Glass
Houses...Have High heat bills.....That's the Sunday

on baseball.... ~ THIS DAY in 1990 The Hubble Telescope was launced....


~ THE WAY WE Were....At Peninsula we had
a stadium built in 1947..And a scoreboard that should have been in a
museum....On the surface it looked OK..We painted it every year and
had a nice team logo on it..But it was outdated...Not made anymore -
including parts....So what do you do when parts go bad...Well first
you take the AT BAT parts and paint over that area...Than you take
the light that shows what team was up to bat.....Now you are getting
low on parts..So you take the extra 10th inning
parts....So everything is working now right?? Yes..Until it
rains..THAN the 2nd and 3rd inning just disappear....Lights
Out....Until it drys up....From "Big League Dreams".... ~

    ~ DID YOU KNOW That JIM DERRINGTON was the
youngest player in the American League to get a hit...The Year was
1956....His age was 16.... ~

    The following is the  editorial
piece I had published in several newspapers in 2004...I still feel the same
way......




Baseball legend Pete Rose came out with his new book "Prision without
bars'' last week. After agreeing to a lifetime suspension from
baseball more than a decade ago he now finally admits that he did
indeed wager bets on baseball. He bet on the very team he was
managing, the Cincinnati Reds. Rose says he only bet on his team to
win and never from his stadium office but from his home. This
admission comes after years of denial that he ever bet on baseball.
Why now? What makes his timing so special? One reason is probably
because he needs the money and this book will sell alot of copies.
But the main reason is probably because his normal eligiblity to
Baseball's Hall of Fame runs out in 2 years.After that he would have
to face the Veterans committee which is much more strick than the
normal voting process. Since he must first be reinstated to baseball
before he can be nominated to the Hall of Fame he is putting on the
all out push to get back in. The question is should he?
There is no doubt that Pete Rose has the stats to be in the Hall of
Fame. No player has accomplished so much with determination than Pete
Rose. He was not a natural raw talent performer. He had to work for
everything he did.I was with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980 when
the Phils won their one and only World Championship. We would have
not done that without Pete Rose. I have met Pete Rose. He's a good
guy. But does that excuse what he did? Does baseball give Rose a pass
and still ban "Shoeless" Joe Jackson? Jackson was a member of the
eight "Black Sox" - the name given the Chiacgo White Sox after the
baseball betting scandal in 1919. Many of us think he had no or very
little part of that scandal. He had an outstanding World Series and
it does not appear he threw any game.Yet he was never reinstated or
made a member of the Hall.
Baseball rule 21(D) "Betting on ballgames by any player,umpire,club
or league official or employee who shall bet any sum whatsovever upon
a baseball game which the bettor has a duty to perform shall be
declared PERMANENTLY ineligible" This poster in large letters is in
every dugout and locker room in pro baseball. From rookie league
minor league baseball to major league baseball. I, like Rose, signed
a form every season agreeing that we would never bet on baseball.
Some ask why betting in baseball is such a big issue. The fact is
that baseball was almost destroyed in 1919 when the Chicago White Sox
had eight players that bet and threw the World Series. Had
Commissioner Landis not stepped in and acted with the resolve that he
did baseball may have died because the public would have never
regained faith.And Baseball would have never regained it's integrity.
Pete Rose was betting on his team,the Reds, and managing them. While
he may have bet on them to win he still could have made decisions
that were based on his gambling. Changing of the lineup. Taking a
pitcher out to early or leaving them in to long. Starting a player
that is hurt that really should not be playing. All of these and more
are possible and probably did factor in. This is totally
unacceptable.As manager he had total control of these decisions.As a
member of the baseball family these actions strongly offend me.

The American people are a forgiving group. If Pete had admitted his
problem a decade ago and started to make ammends he perhaps would be
back in baseball. Instead he blamed baseball. He blamed his former
friends. He lied to the American public and his former teammates. He
disgraced himself and hurt America's pastime.Also why not come out in
a public setting and admit this instead of writing a book where he
profits from the announcement? Perhaps he should have all the
proceeds of the book go to a gambling addiction program. But this is
not the case. Even if he does not get back into baseball he will
still make money on the book.
I do believe that he has a sickness and that the gambling addiction
is a disease. But even so he still must face the actions of that
addiction and what he did. To this day he has not.
So should Pete Rose be allowed back into baseball - NO. Should Pete
Rose be allowed in the Hall of Fame - NO. I am not saying ever but
this is not the time. Rose needs to give back to all the people he
lied to. He needs to realize the damage he did to the integrity of
baseball. One day he may be ready to again be a part of the baseball
family. But I am a part of the baseball family and for now I say no.
And that's my Field of Dreams.

   HOMEPLATE ......Senator Obama has had so much trouble over a flag pin....He
was wearing one earlier in the year but removed it several months ago..saying
"He didnt need to wear a pin to be Patriotic"...Now that;s true..But in the
process he has insulted the millions of Americans that do display the
Red...White and Blue.....About 13 months ago my very good friend Rick Gunter -
Publisher - Editor of the Crewe-Burkeville Journal wrote a story on the last
days before my family turned over our family business to the new owner....You
see we held events at Clay's  The Graham Retirement Center for just about every
patriotic holiday...Memorial Day..Veterans Day....July 4th...Labor Day..etc..We
brought vets in from all over and always had a vet speaker.....We kept our
facilty decorated in Red..White and Blue year round...I even challenged other
area businesss folks to do similiar events..While aome didnt...If You Start
It..Hopefully they will come.....Anyway back to Rick..This was
  our last official Clay's event.....Rick wrote "......The 17 year former pro
baseball executive has painted Nottoway Red..White and Blue since arriving in
2002..."  What a compliment!....But Obama insulted millions of us....FIRST ...It
just makes sense that we show support while we fight 2 wars......Also it makes
you feel good about being born in the USA...I often Thank God that I was not
born in France.....Dalfur.....Germany....Iran....The former USSR - France was
another France joke).....Since I didnt serve in the military I have always been
so in awe of them..I was a baseball executive and know we entertained thousands
of people...But folks lets face it WE WERE NOT CURING CANCER.....Our soilders
risk their lives evertyday...EVERYDAY,,Support the wars or not you must support
our troops....In my years in baseball a military man or woman NEVER paid to
watch one of my baseball games...At Clay's soilders were welcome to eat with us
anytime they wanted..Good Home

interesting stuff..INFOMERCIALS.....TV Preachers....etc..I love  FOX ..But at
that time it is the 5th time since 8pm that Bill OReiley....So I get to DR
Phil...Dr Phil is not a MD...He has a PHD...He also was a jury consultant before
Oprah discovered him.....I know he is in love with himself....I know he creates
half the issues that he brings up...For ratings..I know that he is 57 and
sometimes a bully....He's probably a good guy..But the show sometimes riivals
Jerry Springer...So feeling bad lately and not sleeping..I will settle for the
Geroge Foreman blender....

   TODAY'S IRONY...Today is small business week.....John Kerry was praiswing this
week on the Senate floor...Maybe he should have found this fondness for small
business in 2004...But he is ELITE..."Progressive"...Liberal.....WOW..Sounds

McCain I like you...You are an American hero...But the NC GOP has every right to
run these ads..We conservatives really like States Rights..and frankly YOU MAY

Troops need us … We have Troops newly deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan waiting

pen-pal or adopt an individual Soldier or send support to a platoon of newly
deployed Troops, please let us know ASAP.  We have received thousands of new
support requests from our Troops asking for individual, as well as platoon
support and it’s so sad knowing they wait for the American people to embrace

Day and I really did like my tarp.....Like "Rose" from"Titanic" Someone took it

   HOMEPLATE.....Yesterday was Earth Day......When I think of Earth Day I think
of AL GORE...YIKES....I get mad on this day because of many issues ...But Freon
always comes to mind...Remember the old freon???It cooled in seconds....I praise
the old freon having lived 50 miles from the AC Capitol of the world - Carrier
in Syracuse,NY...Now when they mandated we stop using it we all paid a
price...It once ciost only a few dollars to recharge your AC....But to get the
little freon left in America it cost two hundred bucks or more...Or you can
switch to the new system and pay two hundred bucks...So yesterday I ran the AC
on THE COLLIEST setting all day.....I turned all my lights on....I had all 3
TV's on....I turned on my car and let it idle all day,,,WHY?....Because the
science is not a proven fact..It's PC..but not true....I have always been a good
citizen and tryed to never liter...Turned lights off - to save on my bill, kept
the heat off most of the winter - again to save on
  the bill - But i run my AC a good part of the year because I am hot natured -
Get over it...Whwn I lived in New York for 5 years -  Upstate ...Not NY City -
we had to recycle bottles and cans and were charged 5 cents per item until you
took them in to the recycle stations...Now this is nasty - unless you went
everyday,,,,I usually just thew them in the trash...WE ARE AMERICANS..WE ARE
PROUD TO BE AMERICANS..We have a great way of life..A few nuts will not change
that unless we let them..Than comes the Nanny State..All I am saying folks is
research this issue your self.....Find out that these "Carbon Credits" are a
myth that earns money for people like Al Gore and his 10,000 square ft home~~FYI
I do have those outside patio lights that are solar powered...WOW  ....

   Our nominee Senator John McCain still needs to do some work with our base..I
think the base is behind him..But not really fired up..Of course a Obama or
Clinton possible presidency will change that alot......

Injuries are still doing their job on the Phillies with both Shane
Victorino and Jimmy Rollins out of the starting line up. The offense
still hasn’t put things together in consistent fashion yet. Fortunately,
for the most part, the pitching hasn’t been that bad. It has actually
kept the team in the games. If this team doesn’t gel soon, someone else
will set the pace in NL East. If Howard & Company begin to play hard ball
like hard ball is suppose to be played, it may be the Phillies who get
hot. Now wouldn’t that be nice.

DL FOR JIMMYPhillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins is headed to the disabled
list for the first time in his eightyear Major League career. The
Phillies announced before Sunday's finale of a threegame series against
the Mets that Rollins was placed on the 15-day DL. Rollins has not
started the last ten straight games since the injury occurred. He has
appeared as a pinch-hitter four times. Rollins is hitting .308
(12-for-39) with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, and two stolen
bases. Eric Bruntlett has seen the bulk of playing time atshortstop in
his absence. Rollins, the reigning National League Most Valuable Player,
originally suffered the left ankle sprain against the Mets on April 8th,
running the bases in the top of the eighth inning at Shea Stadium.
Rollins will be eligible to be activated for the Diamondbacks series in
Arizona on May 5th.

COSTE(ING) ALONGPhillies catcher Chris Coste tied a career high with four
hits. He went 4 for 5 with a double, capping the day with a two-run homer
off Astros closer Jose Valverde in the eighth inningon Thursday. Coste is
hitting .400 (8 for 20) with two homers and four RBI. Starting catcher
Carlos Ruiz is hitting .186 (8 for 43) with no homers and no RBI. It's
unclear if Coste has earned any additional starts considering his play and
Ruiz's struggles. Coste says he isn'tinterested in playing every day. He
insists that the more he plays, the worse hitter he willbecome. Charlie
Manuel said he doesn't envision him as a 7-day-a-week catcher, thoughafter
Coste's performance on Thursday, Manuel did say the veteran could earn
some moreplaying time. Coste is a clutch player, whose maturity doesn't
seem to allow him to choke.If Carlos Ruiz does continue to struggle at the
plate, do expect to see more Chris Coste.It's one of those pleasant
dilemmas that managers just love.

BACK TO FORMBrett Myers returned to the Phillies rotation this season and
initially, he felt himselfstruggling a bit. Myers says that he did not
pitch like himself in his first two starts. It showed in the stats. He
was 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA after two starts, but he is 2-0 with a 2.40 ERA in
his two games since. On Thursday, he allowed five hits, one run, and one
walk in seven innings of a 10-2 victory over the Houston Astros. He
struck out eight, which is a season high for Phillies pitchers. In his
previous start, Myers looked as comfortable as he's been since his return
to the starting rotation. He allowed three runs over eight innings while
striking out five and walking none to earn his first win of the season by
beating the Cubs. He is showing good velocity, hitting his spots, andhis
curve and slider are as devastating as ever. If Myers continues to excel,
the moveto acquire Brad Lidge and move Myers back into the rotation will
make his generalmanager look real good.

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKSPhillies outfielder Jayson Werth is, once again, making
the most of an opportunity. Werthwas riding a five-game hitting streak as
the weekend commenced and was batting .389 during that span. With Shane
Victorino on the 15-day disabled list, Werth has shifted to center field
and exhibited good range and a strong throwing arm. Phillies manager
CharlieManuel says he is almost as fast as the fleet-footed Victorino.
Werth was first-round pick in 1997 and was drafted by Phillies GM Pat
Gillick when he was general manager of the Baltimore Orioles. He became a
free agent when Los Angeles failed to offer a contract by the December
11th, 2006 deadline. He was signed by the Phillies. Werth hit .234 with
seven home runs and 43 RBIs in 2005 with Los Angeles, but also missed two
months withinjuries. Previous to last season, had his best season in
2004, hitting .262 with 16 homers and 47 RBIs in just 89 games with the
Dodgers. Last season, he hit .299 with eight home runs and a .863 OPS.

BIG LEAGUE TIMEChris Snelling is back in the major leagues, at least for
now. The journeyman outfielder returned to the big Leagues with his
fourth organization, the beneficiary of OF Shane Victorino being placed on
the 15-day disabled list. Snelling has been backing up the corner
outfield spots and serving as Phillies manager Charlie Manuel's second
lefty bat off the bench. On Tuesday, pinch-hitter Snelling hit a leadoff
homer in the ninth thatstarted a dramatic comeback staking the Phillies to
a 4-3 come from behind win overHouston. Snelling joined the Phillies in
the offseason as a potential left-handed bench option, though that
situation became clouded when the team added free agent OF So Taguchi.
Snelling was claimed off waivers from the Athletics by the Tampa Bay Devil
Rays on October 25th, 2007. With a crowded outfield, the Rays traded
Snelling to the Phillies for cash considerations on November 20th, 2007.
The Phillies sent him outright to the minors on March 28th, 2008. On
April 12th, 2008, Snelling was recalled from the AAA IronPigs.
Unfortunately, Snelling was put on the 15 day DL on Sunday, retroactive to
April 17th with left knee inflammation.

RETURNING TO FORM?Adam Eaton, who allowed three runs in 7 2/3 innings in a
4-3 loss to the Reds on April 5thand three runs in six innings of a 4-3
loss to the Mets last Thursday, still hasn't recorded a decision this
season, but his 3.95 ERA is more than a run-and-a-half lower than it was
at any point in 2007. In fact, this is the first time since last June
that he has pitched at least six innings and allowed fewer than four runs
in back-to-back starts. Eaton accomplished that feat in just seven of his
30 starts in 2007. This isn't the first time he has had success as a
Phillie though. From May 8th to June 17th of last season, he went 4-2
with a 3.38 ERA in eight starts. Unlike last year, when he struggled with
shoulder pain, Eaton thinks his success is here to stay. Eaton says
everything comes down to his shoulder. The joint in his pitching shoulder
hurt him all last season, particularly from July through September, when
opponents hit .331 against him and his ERA checked in at 7.03. An
offseason MRI exam didn't reveal the need for any surgery, but Eaton knew
it needed something, and so he began working with Mariners trainer Ken
Roll in Washington state to strengthen the joint.All offseason, two or
three times a week, Eaton and Roll focused on building strength and
flexibility in the shoulder. It looos like it worked, hopefully for the
entire season.

PHILLIES FANS MOURN MARZANO'S PASSINGThe Phillies family is mourneing the
loss of a favorite son who died Saturday at the age of 45. John Marzano, a
former first-round draft pick and member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic baseball
team, passed away at his Philadelphia home. He apparently fell down a
flight of stairs after reportedly suffering a possible heart attack.
Marzano went to grade school at Annunciation BMV Catholic Elementary
School, then Central High School, and finally Temple University.He proudly
mentioned it whenever possible. After playing, Marzano remained in the
game as an analyst on "Phillies Post Game Live" for Comcast SportsNet and
was serving as co-host of "Leading Off" on MLB.com with Vinny Micucci.
Marzano's insights and his humor were infectious. MLB.com will establish
an internship program in his memory. The closest John Marzano got to
playing for his beloved Phillies came when he spent the 1994 season with
AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Marzano was Philadelphis to the core, and we
all knew that.Our thoughts and our prayers go to his family. John Marzano
is survived by his wife, two daughters and two grandchildren. Find the

Pedro Feliz's RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning capped a
four-run rally that carried the Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Houston
Astros on Tuesday night. Pinch-hitter Chris Snelling hit a leadoff homer
in the ninth and Chase Utley was hit by a pitch. After Ryan Howard struck
out, Pat Burrell tied the score at 3 with a two-run homer to right.
Rudy Seanez (1-1) earned the win with a hitless inning.
The Phillies failed to give starter Adam Eaton any run support while he
was in the game. He gave up seven hits and three runs in six innings, his
third straight start of at least six innings.
The Seattle Mariners purchased the contract of former Phillies LHP
Arthur Rhodes from Tacoma.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs assigned INF Gookie Dawkins to Reading and
recalled INF Joey Hammond from Reading.
The Newark Bears agreed to terms with former Clearwater and Reading RHP
J.J. Trujillo.
The Boston Red Sox purchased the contract of former Phillies INF Joe
Thurston from Pawtucket.
Roy Oswalt pitched seven strong innings, Michael Bourn hit a
tie-breaking solo homer, and theAstros beat the Phillies 2-1 Wednesday
night.
Jimmy Rollins pinch-hit Wednesday, but was clearly hobbled and was away
from the Phillies until Saturday while attending his uncle's funeral.
Charlie Manuel hasn't had the easiest time coming up with a lineup with
first Jimmy Rollins and then centerfielder Shane Victorino unavailable
because of injuries. The manager has used six combinationsin the top two
spots: Victorino/Eric Bruntlett (twice), Victorino and Greg Dobbs (once),
Victorino and Jayson Werth (once), Jenkins and Werth (once), Werth and
Carlos Ruiz (once), and Werth and Pedro Feliz (once).
Former Phillies LHP Randy Wolf picked up his first decision as a San
Diego Padre on Tuesday, pitching no-hit ball against the Colorado Rockies
for 6 2/3 innings before allowing a single.
Steve Kline made his first appearance Tuesday for AAA Lehigh Valley,
walking two and allowing no runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Brett Myers pitched seven impressive innings, Chris Coste tied a career
high with four hits, and the Phillies beat the Houston Astros 10-2
Thursday.
Coste, who was 4-for-5, had an RBI double in the third and homered off
Astros closer Jose Valverde in the eighth.
Ryan Howard and Pat Burrell had back-to-back homers for the Phillies,
who tied a season-high with 16 hits. Chase Utley added a two-run shot.
Pat Burrell's homer in the sixth inning was the 224th of his career,
moving him past Greg Luzinski forfourth place on the Phillies' all-time
list.
Every Phillies starter had at least two hits except Myers and SS Eric
Bruntlett, who was 0-for-5.
The Texas Rangers placed former Phillies OF Marlon Byrd on the 15-day
DL.
ShaneVictorino (strained right calf) has made progress, and the
Phillies hope to have him on a rehabilitation assignment next week. He's
eligible to be activated from the disabled list April 28th.
Righthander Scott Mathieson, who had right arm surgery (ulnar nerve
transposition), has been slow to progress. He's playing long toss and
throwing some bullpen sessions.
Righthander Francisco Rosario (strained right shoulder) sought a second
opinion about his shoulder. He does not need surgery, so the Phillies hope
he can return to the mound within a couple of weeks.
With Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino still unavailable, Manuel used
his seventh combination for the top two spots in the lineup on Thursday.
Centerfielder So Taguchi hit leadoff and third baseman Greg Dobbs was
second. Taguchi (.286) went 2 for 5 and scored a run. Dobbs (.250) went 2
for 5 and scored twice.
Phillies pitchers have already had 12 quality starts, which ranks third
in the league. The bullpen entered the weekend with a 3.17 ERA, which
ranked second in the NL. Only St. Louis' bullpen has been better, with a
3.07 ERA.
Johan Santana (2-2) allowed three runs and four hits, out-pitching Cole
Hamels in a matchup of two of the best left-handers in the majors. The
Mets won 6-4 on Friday night.
Hamels (2-2) gave up five runs, four earned, and eight hits in
seven-plus innings.
Pinch-hitter Greg Dobbs hit a three-run homer off reliever Aaron
Heilman to cut the Phillies' deficit to 5-4 in the eighth. Chase Utley
also homered.
Over the last two seasons, the Phillies have been held to one or fewer
runs just 11 times, nine times in 2007 and twice this year.
The Phillies already have used five leadoff batters and six No. 2
hitters in 16 games.
Charlie Manuel said he urged Ryan Howard, who entered Friday's hitting
only .211, to move up in the batter's box before the game, but Howard told
the manager afterward he felt as if it made him easier to jam. The first
baseman struck out twice against Johan Santana and went 0-for-4 to fall to
.197.
Entering the weekend, the Phillies were seventh in the league in
hitting (.261) and had committed 16 errors, more than any other National
League team except the Pirates (21). Phillies pitchers had the league's
sixth-best ERA (3.45).
Oliver Perez pitched 5 2-3 scoreless innings, Jose Reyes hit a two-run
homer, and the Mets defeated the Phillies 4-2 Saturday.
Struggling Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard botched Endy Chavez's
hard grounder that could've been an inning-ending double play, allowing
Jose Reyes to homer in the next at-bat.
Jamie Moyer pitched 6 innings, surrendering two earned runs. He got
the loss.
Each of New York's wins has come with Rollins missing from the
Phillies' lineup because of a sprained left ankle.
Forbes magazine has announced its annual valuations of Major League
Baseball's 30 teams, reporting that the average club is worth $472
million, up 9 percent in a year. The Phillies are ranked 10th at $481
million.

Phillies first base coach Davey Lopes visited the team on Saturday and
hopes to resume duties by the end of April.
To fill the roster spots of Jimmy Rollins and Cheis Snelling, the
Phillies called-up infielder Brad Harman rom AA Reading and outfielder
T.J. Bohn was recalled from AAA Lehigh Valley. Harman, 22, was hitting
.222 (12 for 54) with three doubles, one home run, and three RBIs in 16
games for Reading. He hit .281 with 13 home runs, and 62 RBI in 122 games
last season for single-A Clearwater. Bohn was hitting .190 (8 for 42)
with one double in 13 games for Lehigh Valley. Bohn previously played in
the major leagues with Seattle in 2006. He was claimed off waivers by the
Phillies last September.
AAA IronPigs catcher Pete Laforest was released after Friday's game.
Chase Utley hit two home runs and Pedro Feliz added a tiebreaking
pinch-hit homer in the seventh to help the Phillies avoid a sweep and beat
the New York Mets 5-4 on Sunday night.
Utley went 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs and the Phillies won the
finale of the three-game series and ended the team's four-game losing
streak against the Mets.
J.C. Romero pitched two scoreless innings for the win.
Brad Lidge pitched a scoleless ninth for his third save as a Phillie.

their own family.....We were known for our name and excellant good
reputation.....Many times we were asked to take people that no other facilty had
been able to keep.....We did and almost always were able to intergrate the
resident in
  our community...We even had some residents as young as 25...OK when checking
out a home think of some of the following - Brefore you even go call the BBB
....See if they are in the Chamber of Commerce...Do they advertise in the local
paper.....Than stop at any businesses around the home and ask them what they
think ...Are they GOOD citizens?- Go to your state's social services website and
see what violations they had in their recent state audit - Pop in at breakfast
or lunch and see what the residemts are eating - Pop in in the afternoon to see
if they are giving the rewidents probert activities - Talk to the residents and
see if they are happy...You can do most of this before you even let the facility
know you may be a clirnt....When you do meet with the facility administrator ask
them about the most recent state review...If it is so different than what you
found tell them what you have heard...If they still avoid the issue pull out a
copy and excuse your self...That
  state audit is suppose to be posted in a public space anyway...And of course
see if the building seems clean..or smells,,,,and if the staff you observe seems
friendly and caring....If uoi hear anyone yelling at a resident or just another
employee - RUN.,,Ask to see several rooms - Not just a model...See if the room
seems clean...Flush the toilet to see if it works...Do have have a full time
maintanience person....Ask where the doctors offices are located ...If your
relative does move in be sure to call often to the staff to see how your loved
one is doing...Visit often....We had an 80 year old building...but it was kept
clean...painted....and a very nice environment for our residents..Our state
inspector even used us as an example to new retirement home operators to
follow...During our last 10 years we actually had years that we lost alot of
money,,,But my parents did not want to sell a family owned and operated
retirement home....We lived in the building...Our family were
  our residents and staff...After my Dad's death in 2006 my Mom wanted to
retire..The business reminded us everyday about my Dad.so close from his death..
...As many of you know I am rareky a loss for words...But when we annouced we
were selling I openly weeped when I called Rick Gunter and Billy Colebuen..The 2
guys that owned our 2 local papers..I told them this was one press release that
I couldn;t do....They both did a great job on the announcement......So be very
carefull in your search..Remember it's really not about the builing so much..If
it;s safe aand clean - it's all about the people inside that operate it.....  ~

shaved at home plate in front of a full crowd in Geneva,NY in
1990...also
shaved head and all and my staff had to sleep overnight on the
pitchers mound.
We were awoken by stadium security the next morning--no one told them
about
our bet--but the Cubs front office came to our rescue...The
interesting thing
was that my fans--AUBURN, NY--enjoyed it the most...MY..BOOSTER CLUB - Our bet
was who won the season series between the Astros and the
Cubs..No
Pete Rose kind of bet....We did have.Pete Rose,jr was in our league that
year.. ~ A VERY WARM AND HAPPY PASSOVER For our Jewsish brothers and

1980...Broadcasting from Rocky Mount, North Carolina on one of Pat
Robertson's CBN Radio stations the game between Rocky Mount and
Peninsula,
were myself and a guy named Goose Goslin. He actually worked for Pat.
Now
Rocky Mount had the all time worse one season Carolina Record that
season
barely winning 20 games out of 140. When the Rocky Mount people in
the press
box found out that our flagship station was owned by CBN they started
using
profanity that I certainly cant use here.Goose started yelling over
for them
to be more professional. Every time he did that, the louder they
got....All
of a sudden in the 5th they pulled our power and that was pretty much
the
ballgame.No action was taken by the league but we did win 14-
1....From Big
League
Dreams

Now the United States will have a clear choice between the
two

Penn League...We were heading for the all-time Auburn attendance
record...We had keychanins printed that said "I WAS PART OF THE
ALLTIME ATTENDANCE RECORD"...We had plenty of games left...AND than
it started to rain...We lost 4 home games to rain...NO problem our
final game always drew 2,000 people...But the rain gods opened up the
night before and the tarps were not on the field-THAT'S ANOTHER
STORY-Anyway there we were, final game of the season..Sunny skys-Wet
field..The umpires called Marc Techman and me out to the pitchers
mound...Not only Marc and me but our entire staff were in white
tuxedos..UMPIRES to Auburn staff..NO GAME..YIKES ..No game...No
record....Well maybe not...Let's talk to NY PENN LEAGUE PRESIDENT -OUR LATE
FRIEND - Leo
Pinckney....Leo can we have a special exemption to count this
crowd...Of course....So the key chains went out...The record was
broken...and a ONE TIME ONLY league policy was changed....Thanks
Leo....FROM "BIG LEAGUE DREAMS"...(BY the way...Leo was a former
Auburn President...Lifelong Auburn resident..The league office was in
Auburn...And he was a good friend to the Auburn team...We may have
used those factors to our advantage..But Leo was a very good and kind
man..and we will never forget him for letting us slide

"America's Email"....."EMPTY SEATS.....DON'T BUY HOTDOGS" - Bob Neal.... ~
WELCOME To the Friday "Field"...The email that is all about Friends and
Family...The opening today is about my very good friend and mentor BOB
NEAL.....Bob passed away 13 months ago...He was my oldest adult friendship at 30
years...The Hot Dog statement may seem odd to many of you...But as a pro
baseball executive it says so very much...It meant that yoou promote EVERY Home
game with some promotion...For those who don't know ...Gate ticket sales are not
the main revenue of a baseball
game......Food.....Hotdogs...Hamburgers....Popcorn...Nachos and BEER.....You can
get about 144 beers out of a 50 dollar keg.....Think of the last beer you bought
at a ballgame.....Bob also said "Alwats Pull the Tarps"......First it helps save
the game...And it shows your staff...players and the FANS that you are willing
to do whatever it takes to save that game,,,Now he taught me so many more issues
not as simple - But
  these two seem simple ...but mean so much...Bob taught me just about everything
I know about running a pro baseball team....I know he looks down on us and to my
dear friend, Bob's wife Janice. God Bless I love ya Janice..... ~ "From "Big
League Dreams".....Worst fans ....For me it was the fans of the Lynchburg
Mets......In 1977 - many of you were only a twinkle in someone's eye - I know -
It was Sept 1977 Carolina League Championship Series...Games 1 and 2 were in the
Hill City..... First things were so bad that our bus had to make a "cork screw
park and landing"....."We had to avoid sniper fire on the way" into city
stadium.. ,The staff and wives of the Pilots were sitting behind our
dugout...The stadium was full and the Lynchburg fans were yelling at
us..THROWING trash at us..etc...We won!! The players were heading to the club
house when the fans approached us ....We had no where to go but the field....Our
players ran over to protect us....Than both team went on to have
  a huge fight....Now I may be a "typical white person"   but I was only 17 years
old...We went on to win the Carolina League Championship and I won my first
Champoionship ring in my first year! Lynchburg was so "bitter" that they joined
a "church and bought hand guns" ~ Thanks to the 2 democrats running for
President for adding to this story..All is true but the "   " ...... ~Today's
