Eaton returns to Philly with three-year pact
The Phillies on Thursday officially announced the signing of right-hander Adam Eaton to a three-year, $24.5 million contract, thus completing their projected 2007 starting rotation.
Eaton was the Phils' first-round pick and the 11th choice overall in the 1996 June draft.
The deal, which was first reported late Monday afternoon, includes a club option for a fourth year that could bring the total value to $33 million.
Eaton replaces Randy Wolf, who joined the Dodgers on Tuesday, and fills out a starting rotation that includes Brett Myers, Cole Hamels, Jon Lieber and Jamie Moyer. Full story »
