I wanted to ask you all to consider taking a turn at keeping the score sheet, running the clock, or operating the penatly box for one of the home games. I tried score keeping this weekend, and picked it up pretty quickly (and I'm a slow learner!) It was also alot of fun to be down there in the midst of all the action! Not only that, but your son will get to see you down there with him and I think that is exciting for them!
Jeff is going to make a cheat sheet for the clock, and is willing to show anyone how to do it. I can teach someone how to keep the score sheet, and I'm sure Bill could explain the ins and out of the penalty box.
It would just be nice for the guys who do it all the time to have a chance to watch a home game from the seats once and a while.
Please get to me or Scott if you'd like to help out!

USA Hockey Announces H1N1 Recommendations
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey, with the counsel of Dr. Michael Stuart, its chief medical officer, today issued the following information regarding the H1N1 infection, including recommendations to reduce the likelihood of spreading the infection. USA Hockey recommends:
- Providing individual water bottles for players and not sharing water bottles. - Regularly washing hands. - Cleaning workout gear for each practice/competition. - Keeping gloves on during the traditional handshake with opponents.
Individuals with influenza may develop typical signs or symptoms, including: fever (102 degrees fahrenheit or greater), cough, muscle aches, runny nose, headache or sore threat, with the potential for more serious complications, including pneumonia. This year's influenza virus strain has particularly affected
children and young adults. Transmission of the influenza virus may occur from the day before the onset of symptoms and during the five-to-seven days that the symptoms are present. Infected individuals should stay home until signs and symptoms have resolved, with no fever present for at least 24 hours. The 24-hour no-fever timeline should be achieved naturally, without the aid of fever reducing medications.
Additional information regarding H1N1 is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention http://www.cdc.gov/H1N1Flu
Hi everyone, we are set for the flyers utz package on Monday 12/21 at 7pm. The cost is $35 per ticket. I'll be using my credit card, so you can make the check out to Nicole Sutterby or cash works too. I would like to have all the money in by Thanksgiving so they have time to mail us our tickets and I can distribute them to you.
Here are some details:
There are some light snacks provided in the suites. This includes baskets of pretzel nuggets and potato chips, as well as 12 Pepsis, 6 diet Pepsis, and 12 bottles of water. There will be a suite attendant that can take care of additional catering orders for your group.
I there are 24 seats in each suite....something to consider!
Parents, thank you for your prompt reply for the hockey get together! Unfortunately, we need more tickets than they could provide as they only had one suite left. They have two suites available for 12/21...this is a Monday night at 7pm, but close to Christmas break for the boys. We will now have 48 tickets available. If the numbers you all sent me stay the same we will have 37 tickets spoken for. There are 2 folks I did't hear from and 1 who may need some now that the date has changed. Please let me know if your number will stay the same or change and what you'll need.

Parents:
Now that the hockey season is in full swing, the Board is trying to organize some sub-committees.I have been tasked with the Fundraising Committee. Many parents have come forward with ideas and offers of help in this area.I am trying to pull together a Fundraising Committee to address our options as a Club. Many of you know that our Cuesta-Thomas Tournament at the end of the season is a big fundraiser for us and this year will be no exception. This year’s Tournament Director is Ed Keegan, Assistant Coach for the Squirt B team.
In addition, the Club is working on the option of hosting a Beef-n-Beer some time later in the season as well.Kris Cossel and Bill Apple have stepped up to take the lead in chairing this event.
We are very interested in hearing from all of you.If you have any ideas or would like to donate your time in helping us examine our fundraising options, please let me know.Just send me an e-mail at Kathleen.granahan@.... We will be holding a Fundraising Committee meeting in November and would love to have you join us!Thank you.

The Coaches have decided to enter an application for our team in the Inaugural Christmas City Classic Tournament in Bethlehem, PA at the Steel Ice Center. The dates of the tournament are 12/26->12/29. FYI..The schedule of games for most tournaments is posted approximately 1 week prior to the tournament. You can expect the team to play a minimum of 4 games.
The tournaments can be some of the most fun and great hockey for the team all season. It is a very exciting time with extended families coming out for the games. The team will plan bonding time such as team meal and or activities other than hockey.
The cost per player will be $70. Please advise immediately if your player is not able to attend. We need to collect the money by October 15th. Please make checks payable to Todd Kerchner since this is a team event and not a club event. If paying cash please place in an envelope with the players name on it. Either myself or our assistant team manager Nicloe Sutterby will collect payments at any practice between now and October 15th.
The coaches have been doing a great job. We are looking forward to tomorrows game Go Penguin's!
