Chris,

The FredCast Podcast is starting a national team for BikeMS events (formerly known as MS150 events). There are over 100 BikeMS events around the country and there is a new team right here in North Idaho.  Team FredCast has been formed for the Bike MS Trail of The Coeur d'Alenes, and we could use the support of your club.  The ride is about 150 miles over two days.  It takes place September 6th and 7th 2008.

We've formed a team for the MS Bike Tour because we know that riding 150 miles is nowhere near as difficult as confronting a lifetime with multiple sclerosis.  The National Multiple Sclerosis Society gives us all reason to hope, though.  In addition to supporting novel research projects around the globe, they also provide much needed education, programs, and services to everyone who is affected by MS - including the diagnosed, their friends and families, and the healthcare professionals who work with them.

Team FredCast is a nationwide team that has a new "chapter" here in Sandpoint.  We are currently working on jersey sponsors, and we are also working to partner with some well known bicycle companies for some great give-aways for participants.  The ride is free, and there is a minimum fundraising comittment of $250.  Don't let the $250 scare you.  It is very easy to raise that amount of money for a good cause, and the MS Society provides some very good tools to meet your goal.

If any of the club members would like to participate, they can register here:  http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=9030&team_id=118947

Or e-mail me, and I will get you the info.  brian.ipsen@...

Thanks,
Brian Ipsen

Thanks, Chris. MS is a really nasty disease, one that affects a surprisingly large number of people that I know. The MS society is one of my top charities. ...
