Transportation Enhancement Program: Please take action   Message List

Pedalers,

I know you get sick of pleas to help with this cause and that cause, but here is one that might have a direct impact on us. Molly O'Reilly, the head of the Sandpoint Pedestrian Advisory, forwarded it to me. If you can take a minute to send a message before the scheduled meeting, it may have an impact. Click on the link, then find on the right side of the page the contact information for the state Transportation Planner. Thanks for caring.

As you may know, ITD has a relatively small pot of money from the feds for "enhancement grants" to local jurisdictions. The money is spent mainly on pedestrian and bicycle improvements.

At its April 16-17, 2008 - (Lewiston) meeting, the ITD Board is expected to close down those grants and shift the money into vehicle lanes.

It would be lovely if someone from Pend Oreille Pedalers would request that they retain Transportation Enhancement Grants. We get so much more value that way! Please spread the word and also encourage others to write.

or via email c/o: Sue Higgins <sue.higgins@...>,

Thanks,
Molly
