Pedalers,
This cross-country cycling trek has recently come to my attention and thought some of you might wish to meet these riders on Wednesday May 26th as they come into town, or ride with them as they leave the Sandpoint area on Thursday May 27th heading east. I plan to join them on their ride out of town on the 27th to offer support for their cause and give them a little of our Sandpoint riding hospitality.

A group of cyclists are planning to trek across America to promote green living and a sustainable future. A northern route of ten cyclists are leaving Seattle on May 18 and will reach Sandpoint late afternoon on May 26th. Another route begins in San Francisco and will travel throughout the middle part of the US. Their mission is as follows:
The mission of The Trek to Re-Energize America is to build a united popular movement to demand serious action from our elected officials on climate change, to inspire sustainable change at the individual level, to increase media attention on the issue, and to support individual communities in their struggles for a more just, sustainable and prosperous future. Depending on your preferences, he will help solidify where and when you meet and join their cycling group. It would be wonderful if the greater Sandpoint area had a large turnout for this event!
