March 16, 2009 Thomas W. "Bunzy" Unz, 44, of Parish, died Monday, March 16, 2009 from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident on March 5, 2009. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Lakeport and Central Square before moving to Parish over 22 years ago. Tom was a railroad engineer for CSX Railroad in East Syracuse for nine years. He was a meat cutter for 20 years and owned and operated Bunzy's Country Meats in Brewerton. Tom was an avid classic car enthusiast and enjoyed snowmobiling and four wheeling. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, William and Dorothy Nurney and Charles and Dee Unz. Tom is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Marlena L. Booth; two daughters, Autumn Lee and Amanda Elizabeth; one son, Nicholas
Thomas, all of Parish; his father and mother, Tom C. and Lois L. (Nurney) Unz of Pennellville; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Flora Booth of Bradenton, FL; a sister-in-law, Brenda (Brent) Ostrander; a niece, Taylor M. Ostrander, all of Cicero; a stepgrandmother, Patty Nurney of North Lawrence; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the WATSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 631 S. Main St., Central Square, NY with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square. Calling hours will be Friday, March 20, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
