Last Thurs., February 26, Chet and Gretchen Sayer traveled to Oneida and took Connie Shovlin and her son Brian out to lunch.  Brian left Sat for Pensacola for five weeks of training to be a navy recruiter.

We missed all you people that were unable to attend.  Our 2010 picnic will be at the Town Manor B&B in Auburndale, Florida.  Reserve March 1, 2010 and I will be sure to send out a map with next years picnic notice.

Your help is needed in locating new address for Iva Peck, Harold and Marjorie Hubbard, Jim and Bea Donovan and Bob and Lucille Goodno.  Please e-mail new address to jpiseski@...   Thanks,  John Piseski

Kudos to Don Sanderson who stopped by to help shovel out a friend in need.  What a strange way to park in the driveway.  And Al, I am glad you didn’t have a camera!  Thank you both for being a friend.

What an enjoyable afternoon at the Parish Senior Dining and Activity Center with guest speaker Nancy Bookheimer.  Nancy read her interesting story “Molasses Food for Cows and Kids”  that she wrote with her cousin, Sharon Robbins and entered in the Parish Writer’s Group’s latest book, “Parish Potluck” during lunch.  Much to the delight of the diners, Nancy brought some of the delicious molasses cookies that were made from the recipe that has been handed down in the family from generation to generation.  Following the meal, dressing in character,  Nancy read the fascinating “Minnie Niles Narrative”  that she had used at a Parish Town Historical Society spring walk at the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery.  Nancy is the third in the series of guests from the Parish Writer’s Group which is sponsored by the Parish Public Library.

Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. (OCO)  “March for Meals”  project is underway.  The Parish Senior Dining and Activity Center (PSDAC) has partnered with Parish Key Bank and the Grist Mill Restaurant, who are selling $1 paper vans.  Along with the Parish Hardware, where you can drop your change in a “March for Meals” collection can.  Mayor Leon Heagle and Deputy Town Supervisor Fred Swartz will be assisting in the local meal deliveries in Parish on Wed. March 18.  The PSDAC will have an informational booth with giveaways at Parish Irish Days.  Come see what all the excitement is all about.
