How did you spend your holidays?

Christmas day was spent with friends and family. Bette, Steve, Leslie and Ben Logsdon; Mary Dawn; Robert, Bonnie and Morgan Frederick enjoyed dinner together. This was the last get together at the parsonage, the Logsdon family will be moving on Jan. 4, 2009. They will be missed greatly.

Linda and Ben Clark had dinner with Bonnie, Bob, and Morgan Frederick at the Grist Mill, sharing tales of Christmas shopping.

APW Band fundraiser—Christmas Concert was fantastic. The auditorium was filled,
after the color guard executed an excellent performance. The spaghetti dinner with meat balls was the best. Great job, from the Frederick family. Please help to get our kids new uniforms, support the band boosters fund raisers.

Elaine Updyke drove to Guilford, CT to spend Christmas with Jeff, Kelly, Lindsey, Haley, and Tanner Updyke.  On December 26th Elaine journeyed on to Short Hills, NJ to enjoy a few days with Eric and Caroline and their twins, Jake and Lauren.  Elaine will travel south to see Troy, Kammi, Reece and Jane Updyke in January to celebrate Jane's first birthday.

Snowbound in SeattleSeattle had a white Christmas for only the 10th time in the last 117 years.  We had a mere 16 inches of snow on the ground.  It may as well have been 5 feet because Seattle has no snow removal equipment.  For 8 days nothing moved in most of the Puget Sound area.  I prefer a Green Xmas.  I'm warmer & happier listening to Bing Crosby sing White Christmas.  Barrie Parrish, Seattle

Chet and Gretchen Sayer celebrated Christmas with Jim and Connie (Sayer) Shovlin in Oneida.

Mike and Debbie (Rozonkiewiecz) Young celebrated Christmas with their children, Mike Jr and Shelby, for the first time in Parish, NY with Grandpa and Grandma R.  Mikey and Shelby Young have never had snow on Christmas, so this was a treat for them!  Mitchell III and his wife, Patti, Frank and his wife, Stacy, also made the trek to Parish to celebrate Christmas in Mitch and Doris Rozonkiewiecz’ new house.  The grandchildren who live in the South enjoyed the cold and snow as much as their presents left by Santa.  They were shocked to see how much snow there was.

The Laneys had a wonderful Christmas!  All four children were home for the holidays and to help family and friends celebrate their brother's, Bill, 50th birthday at a party held at the Pulaski Legion on the 26th.

John and Joan Piseski along with Bob and Fran Gryzick visited with Joyce and Ralph Vesey on Sunday, Dec. 28.  While there, they also reviewed plans for the annual Parish area picnic which is scheduled for March 2, 2009 in Zephyrhills, Florida.  On the way to the Vesey's, they saw a large white bald headed eagle.  Also, four white Pelicans have recently visited their park in Zephyrhills .  It is very rare to see white pelicans that far inland.

The Stanton family celebrated Christmas on Sunday Dec. 28 at the home of Rowlan Stanton in West Amboy. Those attending were Rowlan; Cynthia Stanton; Nancy and Alias Wright of West Amboy; Cregg and Jeanne Stanton; Nancy Rice; Mike and Jennifer Trumble and Riley; Reed and Will Corcoran all of Altmar; the newest family member: Anderson Rice Stanton and his parents Clark and Stephanie Stanton of Sandy Pond.

Scot and Erin (Houghton) Badger of West Virginia were in Parish for New Year's.  Doug, Mary (Drought) Houghton and Jamie Houghton; Scot and Erin spent time together at Bill and Krista (Houghton) Alsworth eating, enjoying family and celebrating a delayed Christmas.  Everyone is happy and healthy and it's a HAPPY NEW YEAR.  The Houghton family is looking forward to Erin and Scot relocating eventually back to the area and Jamie finding a new and exciting job.  May 2009 be a successful and happy year for everyone.

Bob and Fran Gryzick hosted a New Year’s Eve party at their Florida home.  The following guests attended:   John and Joan Piseski; Stan and Ruth Axtell: and Wayne and Gloria Gardner from (Chittenango); Randall and Judi Gearsbeck (Star Lake); and friend Jene from France.   A great time was had by all in welcoming in the New Year 2009.

The New Year’s Eve—Family Blast at the Mills and Petrie Memorial Gymnasium was very well attended by young and young at heart.  All enjoyed good food, conversation, games and more.  The slide show of Parish pictures throughout 2008 may be viewed at the Greater Parish Area Chamber of Commerce website.

The 2009 Parish Relay for Life (formerly Northern Oswego County Relay) will have the next committee meeting on Jan 12 at 6:30pm at the APW Middle School cafeteria.
