| November 4, 2008 Fay William Shetler, 85, of Parish, NY, died Tuesday at VA Medical Center Syracuse, NY. He was born in Parish, son of the late Fred and Lillie Tanner Shetler. He formerly worked at the L.A. DeGarmo Saw Mill of Parish. He was a veteran of the Army Signal Corps, serving from 1943 to 1945 in WWII. He was a member of the Hastings-Parish VFW and the American Legion of Parish. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Kathleen E. Schumaker; one daughter, Susan (Ronald Skantze) Shetler, Loudonville, NY; two sons, Richard (Grace) Shetler, Parish, Douglas Shetler, Parish; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Shetler, Fulton; one sister, Dorthy Libertore, East Syracuse. Predeceased by one son, Ronald F. Shetler, 1947. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Harter Funeral Home, Inc., 2983 W. Main St., Parish, NY. Burial will be
in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home. |
