Welcome home and get well wishes to Parish’s former Mayor Lillian Harter.  Lillian recently underwent heart surgery, was at St. Luke’s for a shorter time than what was projected, due to her determination.  Send her a letter of cheer at 2912 East Main Street, Parish, NY  13131.

Colleen Swartz Cicchetti of Brockport and Carrie Swartz Wells and son Dylan of Rochester spent Saturday and Sunday in Parish to help with their father's birthday party.

Laura Swartz of Rockville MD; Jon, Brenda, Max and Maggie Swartz of Rochester; Todd, Brandon and Patrick Cichetti of Brockport and Jeremy Wells of Rochester arrived on Sunday to help with Fred's party.

Carol Welch of Mt. Kisco, New York spent the weekend with her cousin Fred Swartz and family.

Fred Swartz celebrated his 70th birthday with a  backyard picnic enjoyed by family, friends, current and former neighbors, and former co- workers at the East Syracuse -Minoa School System.

Mary Lou Guindon and Nancy Bookheimer met at the Grist Mill on Sunday evening for some catching up and confirming details on the upcoming Parish Olde Home Days.

Bob and Fran Gryzick (you know that couple that celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 7) had dinner at the Manhattan Moon with Ralph and Joyce Vesey and Jim and Carol Zender.  The three couples had dinner together at the same place the previous Friday.  Joyce and Carol were laughing, when they saw Bob and Fran enter the dining room and jokingly said, "Did you come in two cars, again?"   Fran asked what they meant, that they came in one car last week and this week.  The ladies laughed again and said in between giggles, “two identical Toyotas were next to each other in the parking lot last week and we saw you in one and Bob in the other.”  Well, Fran couldn't believe that they saw what had happened the week before.  Anyway, to make the story short, after Bob and Fran said goodbye last week, Fran went to the car, unlocked it and sat down in the drivers seat to wait for Bob.  She thought he was taking a long time to finish saying goodbye, then when she looked to the side, there Bob was sitting in the car next to her and just staring ahead waiting.  Needless to say, Fran became hysterical.  She let him sit there and after many precious moments he finally looked over Fran’s way.  Fran has never (in 50 years) seen Bob  move so quickly as he did when he got out of that other car.  Boy, Bob will never live this one down.  Gotcha Bob!
