To: guindfam@...The APW Sports Booster Club would like to thank everybody who helped us be successful last year. We were able to buy new uniforms for the girls Softball teams, shoulder pad and helmet racks for the Football team, brand new volleyball nets for the Volleyball teams (and those of you who played you know how dangerous the other nets were!), 60 padded sports folding chairs with REBELS on them and 2 brand new score boards (one was donated by Camden Wire) for Baseball and Softball. Now we just need help putting them up! We also were able to purchase all of the trophies the kids earned throughout the year. Without the help of our communities when we have fund raisers or by buying hot dogs at the games or helping serve those delicious dogs, we wouldn't be able to do all of these things for our kids. Thank you ALL for your support! Now we have a new year. Our meetings are the 1st Monday of every month at the High School at 6 o'clock, everybody is invited. Our next meeting will be September 4th. Please come and support your athletes. We have lots of fun ideas and would love to hear more. Our 1st fundraiser is the old favorite - The REBELS gold card. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Rebels gold card it works like this - you donate $10 to your favorite athlete and they will give you a Rebels Gold card. You can use this card at different establishments that are listed on the back of the card, for instance, if you like Burger King Whoppers, if you use this card you can get a FREE Whopper with the purchase of a Whopper meal. Don't like Whoppers, how aboutCam 's Pizza? You can get a FREE medium cheese pizza with a purchase of another pizza. There is 10% off of KFC or 15% of PONDEROSA. For those of us who shouldn't but do - there is $1.00 off of a dozen donuts at Dunkin Donuts. Not hungry, how about a $1 off of a haircut? Oswego Speedway has a free ticket on there and there are a whole bunch more. If you register your card on-line, there are even more places you can use your card at. All of this for ONE WHOLE YEAR for just a $10 donation. You can take this card anywhere with you. You can call Frank Greenlee (625-5112) or Anne Stever (625-4114) for more information or just ask your favorite athlete. Hope to see you at the meeting on September 4th!Fran King Covey’s (class of ’78) response after reading the piece on Chris Rusaw last week.... “Small world!!! I know I can't know everyone who went to APW... but it was nice to hear that a home-town boy is in my neck of the woods.. I live not too far fromCamp Lejeune here in!! “ Jacksonville ,NC Sylvia DeGarmo reports that her father, Lewis DeGarmo has enjoyed receiving mail from his fellow Parishioners and looks for more cards when mail/news is delivered. So if you haven't yet sent a card yet or would like to send another he sure would appreciate hearing from you.On Saturday, 25 August, William Glen Alsworth, Jr. celebrated his first birthday!
