July 14, 2007 Shirley "Sam" Ottoway, 81, of Parish, passed away peacefully on Saturday, with family by her side. Born and raised in Malone, Shirley moved to Syracuse at age 18. She worked for over 28 years at Sackett's Restaurant. Shirley enjoyed camping, gar-dening and spending time with her family.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Lyle K. Ottoway Sr.; her daughter, Linda M. Blair; and her son, Lyle K. Ottoway Jr. She is survived by two sons, Terry (Sue) of Mexico and Karl (Cindy) of Parish; six daughters, Sherry (William) Russell of Williamstown, Karen (Monk) Meeks of Mexico, Janet Ladd of Central Square, Jean (Jim) Brown of Lynchburg, VA, Patricia Ostrowski of Chittenango and Nancy (Roger) Cross of W. Monroe; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main Street, Central Square, with burial immediately following in Hillside Cemetery. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours.
