ALL Parish residents are encouraged to attend the 2006 budget
meeting on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 PM at the Mills and Petrie
Memorial Gymnasium, 2938 East Main Street. Let's make sure they put
back the Parish Summer Rec. program back in the budget, with at
least as much funding as they have allowed in the past. It is so
important for YOU to attend this meeting!
Special Olympics held a walk on October 23 to raise money to keep
the program running. The Parish Training club over $800 alone.
They had a good time. The group is also selling coupon books "Buy
One Get One Free" for $25. These will make great Christmas gifts.
Many thanks to everyone who donated to the walk, especially Fred,
Bridget and Kathy Swartz, who are such a great help. For more
information on Special Olympics or on the coupon books, please, call
Jan Morse at 625-7578.
There were approximately 50 Parish area Girl Scouts and family
members gathered at the Parish Methodist Church on Wednesday,
October 26 for the annual Rededication/Investiture Ceremony. There
were six troops represented this year. This is when the girls
devote or recommit their pledge to Girl Scouts and receive pins,
badges or year strips. The Girl Scouts also put on skits or sang
songs to the delight of all.
Fred, Bridget, and Kathy Swartz called on Jonathon, Brenda, Max and
Maggie Swartz of Rochester on Saturday, October 29. Jeremy and
Carrie Swartz Wells and their son Dylan of Fredericksburg, VA were
visiting for the weekend. Colleen Swartz Cicchetti and son, Brandon
spent the day there, spending time with family, while husband Todd
and their other son, Patrick, were off on a scouting weekend. Does
wolfing down a "garbage plate" ring any bells with the Swartz clan?
The Parish-Hastings Presbyterian Church members will join the Mexico
Presbyterian Church members for a combined service on Sunday, Nov.
13 in Mexico at 10 a.m. The church choirs will be singing again as
a joint choir. There will be no services at the Parish-Hastings
Presbyterian Church on that Sunday, Nov. 13.
