Fame, riches, glory, a custom trophy, and a cleaner beach! All this can yours and is only a dive away at the third annual Golf Ball Challenge. Bring your biggest game bag, and an appetite to Goleta Beach this Saturday (11-18-2006). The rules are simple, pick up from the bottom of the ocean as many golf balls as possible on a single tank dive. No fair seeding the beach or bringing any with you. Remember the point is to CLEAN up the beach while having fun at the same time. Extra points are given other detritus brought up, especially anchors, or Bowling balls with the name "Jerry Lee" on them. :-)
Following the dive we will have a potluck picnic. The club will provide the meat, you should bring a side dish to share. Bags of chips and boxed cookies are boring. Show off your culinary skills and amaze your fellow club members.
We dive at 10:00am and the picnic starts at noon. The more divers we get the better, but if your gear is in the shop, or if you are allergic to cold water and just want to hang, show up for the picnic.
