We need more signups for the SBCC Seminar Day on May 16.   Message List

Hi All,

The response to our planned Seminar day on May 16 so far has been underwhelming.  This is going to be a great opportunity to play with all of the cool toys that SBCC Marine Tech has, for the price of a single day trip out to the islands.  The club has committed substantial resources to setting up this seminar and we will take a big loss if we don't get more people to sign up as soon as possible.  It isn't likely that we will be able to do this again in the near future, so DON'T MISS IT.  Sign up today!

Subject: [Paradise_Dive_Club] PDC Seminar day at SBCC Marine Tech - Saturday May 16

Hi All,

Have you ever wanted to try diving with a full face mask? Have you
ever wondered what it is like to dive with surface supplied air? How
about being able to talk to your dive buddy underwater? What is it
like to be compressed in a hyperbaric chamber without being bent first?

The answers to all of these question can be discovered with the help
of our friends at SBCC Marine Tech. As you may know, SBCC has one of
the premier commercial diving programs in the world and they have
graciously offered to put on a seminar day to allow us to learn about
their program. Best of all it will be a hands on "immersive" event
where we will get to play/dive with all of their toys. The date is
Saturday May 16 starting at 8:00am. We will start with an hour in the
classroom learning about their program (and the ground rules), and
then we will hit the water in their training tanks. Since they have
to pay for staff for the day the price will be $125/pp (about the cost
of a boat trip to the islands). They won't provide lunch, but they
will provide air. :-)

On the day of the event you will need to bring.

* Your C-card
* Mask, fins, snorkels, towel, wetsuit. (the training tank is unheated!)
* Cotton t-shirt and gym shorts for the chamber.

We will each have to sign a liability waiver and a medical
questionnaire.

I will handle signups; email me if you are going to attend. I think
this is going to be a great and unusual opportunity to see what it it
like for people who make diving their business. Don't miss it. Since
we only have a two weeks until the event, please sign up ASAP.
